Finally, an admission that he screwed up, though he still feels he has something to proud of. All the BS'ing about freedom from Saddam and all the other crock was not why. It was failed intelligence and probably because he saw only what he wanted to see.

First off...where the hell have you been?! Ok. Now that I got that off my chest...
Robert Baer, a CIA operative for 21 years, said that Bush and company had made the decision to invade Iraq right after 9/11 happened. They ONLY wanted intelligence that justified their agenda. Now, I don't know how reliable Mr. Baer is, but I watched an interview with him and he seemed very knowledgeable and quite candid in his understanding of the Neocon agenda and how they politicized the CIA and intelligence data.
Now, most of us already knew that Bush was incompetent and as sharp as a marble. But, to have him admit it didn't give me any satisfaction because he purposefully and willfully disregarded the Constitution in the performance of his duties and should still be held accountable. If the American public falls for his pathetic "I'm sorry" act, and Congress once again sits on the sidelines, I will be very, very disgusted. I've already signed every impeachment and pardon petition I could and have sent it to many friends and family, but the man is a criminal...and now he's "sorry!?" -

That is NOT an admission.
Reply
He didn't admit that he LIED.
The ACTUAL intelligence NEVER had enough evidence of ANY of his claims he used to get is into his unjustified war.
He and Cheney and Rumsfeld COOKED the intelligence that they allowed Congress and the public to see and hear.
He is a criminal and his administration is full of criminals. -

I wonder how many Americans recognize that stories like this are state propaganda by a media that grovels before totalitarianism in a style that would have made Pravda in the USSR proud. ABC News lets Bush off with "gee I´m sorry, it was all somebody else's fault" when even the Republican House Majority Leader (of the time) has already told us how Bush (and Cheney) directly lied to Congress, Americans and the world.
Reply
Conservative: Are Bush/Cheney Offenses Impeachable?
Have President Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney committed impeachable offenses for which they should be convicted and removed from office by duping then-House Majority Leader Richard K. Armey into supporting legislation authorizing war against Iraq with twin lies -- that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had personal ties to Osama bin Laden's terrorist network; and that Saddam had miniaturized nuclear weapons, which could be unleashed by employing al Qaeda as a delivery system?
.... After discovering the truth, Mr. Armey lamented he could probably have prevented the Iraqi war debacle: "Had I known or believed then what I believe I know now, I would have publicly opposed the resolution right to the bitter end, and I believe I might have stopped it from happening, and I believe I would have done a better service to my country had I done so."
...Mr. Armey should be summoned to testify under oath before the House Judiciary Committee about his statements in "Angler" implicating Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney in lies to dupe the House of Representatives over war in Iraq. The president and vice president should be given an opportunity to respond under oath but subject to cross-examination.
If the totality of evidence corroborates Mr. Armey's recollection, shouldn't the House immediately vote to impeach Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney and send their cases for trials in the Senate? Wouldn't that action honor the original intent of the Founding Fathers that the Bush administration professes to cherish?

Bush was advised of the upcoming economical crisis but choose to ignore it and is now sorry about that to......I hope this #####
""You know, I'm the president during this period of time, but I think when the history of this period is written, people will realize a lot of the decisions that were made on Wall Street took place over a decade or so, before I arrived in president," Bush said. "And when people review the history of this administration, people will say that this administration tried hard to get a regulator. And there will be a lot of analysis of why that didn't happen. I suspect people will find a lot of it didn't happen for pure political reasons." "

Being president, every day was joyous!!
EVERY day?????? how can he possibly say Sept 11 was joyous?
Going to war, if he felt so unprepared, yet joyous....
any day our soldiers are killed
any day our nation is in peril economically
any day our citizens die from lack of health care or food, yes pres Bush, there are still people and children starving in America.
I'm sure there are plenty more days that can be added....
joyous, sure wasn't joyous for the majority of the people you were supposed to be working for.
I'd be joyous if he apologized, stepped out NOW and didn't receive another penny from the American people.

During the transition, Clinton told Bush his biggest worry that he needed to deal with immediately was Al Qaeda and Bin Laden. BUSH IGNORED THIS ADVICE.
Reply
Richard Clark, a brilliant analyst who had been the top terrorism advisor to Reagan, Bush 1, and Clinton tried desperately to brief Bush from day one about al qaeda, bin laden, etc. but Rice shuffled him off to the basement and buried him.
After begging for months and months he FINALLY got an audience with Bush on....wait for it....SEPT 10, 2001!
Sept 11th could have been prevented. FBI reports were all over the place about arabs taking flying lessons, etc. The FBI was told to ignore them!
The fix was in. According to the PNAC, they needed a 'pearl harbor type event' for the people to accept their new militarily aggressive, world dominance, ideology.
BUSH SHOULD BE IMPEACHED, CONVICTED, and IMPRISONED at GITMO ALONG WITH CHENEY AND OTHERS IN THE ADMINISTRATION WHO ENABLED AND ABBETTED THESE CRIMES. -

You know, I think this says something about how the country has changed. Many people respected Nixon; he was the only recent Prez who came into office with a solid background in international politics. What he accomplished in that arena was significant. But even those who admired him never warmed to him or liked him much; he wasn't considered a likable person. So when Watergate came around, being unliked trumped whatever respect there might have been.
Reply
Compare him to Bill Clinton, whom I don't think was ever widely respected. But he was a jovial, people-centered guy who seemed to be able to make anyone feel special. For him, being liked was enough to save him even when few respected him. Perhaps the differnece was more the change in us. -

He could be impeached after he leaves office, although unlikely.

If he were, would that remove secret service protection from him? That would be a suitable punishment, equal to a multi-million dollar fine. He could always be protected if he went to live with dad. -

I can still remember the image of him on the aircraft carrier saying how they had won the war and yet 6yrs later they are still in Iraq. Let us not forget how he and his administration had the intelligence that Iraq had no WMD and Saddam had no affiliation with Al Qaida but withheld this from both Congress and the House. Would that be conspiratorial or treasonous????

Listen to the liars tell more lies. ET blames everything on him.
Reply
The lies ET is telling are very harsh liberal hate speech.
He knew that 9/11 was going to happen. Ignore the 9/11 commission and the fact that while we had all the intelligence the Clinton administration set it up so the information could not be pooled to show the complete picture.
Bin Laden and the Taliban are in a very mountainous area. Why don't you tell our military where they are at since it is so simple to you.
Now it is Bush's fault that Katrina missed New Orleans and just dumped a lot of rain and the levies that were supposed to be kept up by local committees with federal government money used it to make statues, parks etc. Then the Governor didn't declare a state of emergency after rescinding the one she issued when the Hurricane missed them. Then miraculously the aid is supposed to appear within a day of her declaring it. Never mind it takes days to truck the things there.
It is Bushes fault that the financial mess created by ACORN lobbying congress and for easier to make loans. Fannie and Freddy were not accepting loans with less than 10% down. In 1992 Congress made the changes to CRA and other banking laws to allow 0% down, low starting ARM, interest only payments for a few years, etc. These went into effect in 1995 and the housing bubble started. Republican starting in 2003 tried to fix a growing problem at Fannie and Freddy but the Democrats became incensed and accused the investigators of lying and fabricating things because there was no problem with Fannie and Freddy. The most incensed one were getting big checks from them. They earned their money but the country took in the neck when the bubble burst. But this is Bush's fault.-

Endoscopy----Bush's biggest failure was that he was incompetent and overmatched for the presidency. However, even after 8 years in office he still is unaware that he was not up to the task. But, he still has you and a few others flummoxed. The only people who are more obtuse and dense than Bush is are his few supporters.

Anybody who thinks ACORN could walk into the nation's largest banks and dictate terms to them is an absolute moron. I've never seen any banker pale in fear of little non-profits who represent homeless people. Jeez, just the contrary. Just when do the Republican bankers give homeless people the time of day? All the financial institutions that are in trouble now are because they were greedy and reckless and no regulator stepped in their way to stop them. Get government "off the backs" of business and they steal and waste the taxpayer's money.

george bush was warned by foreign intelligence agencies from all over the world that al qaeda was planning an attack, and he was even told the plan was to use airplanes. What did he do? NOTHING. He did NOTHING. He didn't put airlines on high alert. He didn't warn the public. He didn't make terrorism a priority, and condeleeza rice sent intelligence chiefs 'through channels', & told them not to "bother the principals."
Now then, the USS Cole. Bombed in October of 2000. The intelligence report came out in November of 2000, and fingered al qaeda. Clinton was leaving office in two months. No way would congress have let him go into Afghanistan at the end of his term. It was left for the new President, george bush, to follow through on. What did he do? NOTHING. -

More proof (as if it's needed) that George W. Bush is a textbook psychopath. In the face of damning evidence to the contrary, he doesn't think that he's done anything wrong. That's the mark of a true psychopath, Mr. Bush. You've been an embarrassment to our country from day one and January 20, 2009 cannot come soon enough. Our long national nightmare will finally be over.

I am NOT, however, looking forward to your replacement, Barack Hussein Obama, either. He seems to share the worst of Bush's narcissistic traits, and his ego is second to none. Never has so much trust and blind loyalty been conferred on someone so utterly lacking in the bona fides necessary to lead this nation.
Good luck to you, Mr. Obama, you're going to need it.
And Mr. Bush, good riddance.-

No surprise there then. Having spent the last eight years in the closed world of his placemen cronies it is no wonder he has no concept of nor concern for how badly he has served his country. After all he and his circle have served their paymasters well, with for example record defense spending, and so his true job is done. The dramatically harmful impact of that on his "fellow Americans" and the wider world will be felt for many years to come and will take a very long time and much hard work to recover.
