Finally, an admission that he screwed up, though he still feels he has something to proud of. All the BS'ing about freedom from Saddam and all the other crock was not why. It was failed intelligence and probably because he saw only what he wanted to see.

    Did you hear the latest?????

Bush was advised of the upcoming economical crisis but choose to ignore it and is now sorry about that to......I hope this #####

""You know, I'm the president during this period of time, but I think when the history of this period is written, people will realize a lot of the decisions that were made on Wall Street took place over a decade or so, before I arrived in president," Bush said. "And when people review the history of this administration, people will say that this administration tried hard to get a regulator. And there will be a lot of analysis of why that didn't happen. I suspect people will find a lot of it didn't happen for pure political reasons." "

What a bunch of horse $hit!!!

It's a garish image, but in the days of storming the Bastille, a Bush type leader would leave office with his head held high.

    On a pole!

You know, I think this says something about how the country has changed. Many people respected Nixon; he was the only recent Prez who came into office with a solid background in international politics. What he accomplished in that arena was significant. But even those who admired him never warmed to him or liked him much; he wasn't considered a likable person. So when Watergate came around, being unliked trumped whatever respect there might have been.

Compare him to Bill Clinton, whom I don't think was ever widely respected. But he was a jovial, people-centered guy who seemed to be able to make anyone feel special. For him, being liked was enough to save him even when few respected him. Perhaps the differnece was more the change in us.

Time has a way of doing funny things--who'd a thunk that the Nixon of Watergate and impeachment would gain a level, at least in some quarters, of respect.

It's hard to imagine though, that Bush, so fundamentally empty, so wedded to to many failures, will find his place in history positively revised.

The apparent positive revision of Nixon has everything to do with comparative history. New lows elevate many to plateau status.

I don't like Bush. He was a disaster of a President and an embarrassment to Texans. But he will not be remembered that way. History is too easy on politicians. He will be extolled at some point in history.

The interview was just one more piece of evidence this guy doesn't have a clue.

As if we needed more evidence after ignoring warnings of 911, Failing to get Bin Laden & the Taliban, Invading Iraq, the Katrina disaster, Dubai Ports, the mortgage meltdown, banking crisis...

Name ANY other President who has managed to mangle our country so thoroughly.

Listen to the liars tell more lies. ET blames everything on him.

The lies ET is telling are very harsh liberal hate speech.

He knew that 9/11 was going to happen. Ignore the 9/11 commission and the fact that while we had all the intelligence the Clinton administration set it up so the information could not be pooled to show the complete picture.

Bin Laden and the Taliban are in a very mountainous area. Why don't you tell our military where they are at since it is so simple to you.

Now it is Bush's fault that Katrina missed New Orleans and just dumped a lot of rain and the levies that were supposed to be kept up by local committees with federal government money used it to make statues, parks etc. Then the Governor didn't declare a state of emergency after rescinding the one she issued when the Hurricane missed them. Then miraculously the aid is supposed to appear within a day of her declaring it. Never mind it takes days to truck the things there.

It is Bushes fault that the financial mess created by ACORN lobbying congress and for easier to make loans. Fannie and Freddy were not accepting loans with less than 10% down. In 1992 Congress made the changes to CRA and other banking laws to allow 0% down, low starting ARM, interest only payments for a few years, etc. These went into effect in 1995 and the housing bubble started. Republican starting in 2003 tried to fix a growing problem at Fannie and Freddy but the Democrats became incensed and accused the investigators of lying and fabricating things because there was no problem with Fannie and Freddy. The most incensed one were getting big checks from them. They earned their money but the country took in the neck when the bubble burst. But this is Bush's fault.

Anybody who thinks ACORN could walk into the nation's largest banks and dictate terms to them is an absolute moron. I've never seen any banker pale in fear of little non-profits who represent homeless people. Jeez, just the contrary. Just when do the Republican bankers give homeless people the time of day? All the financial institutions that are in trouble now are because they were greedy and reckless and no regulator stepped in their way to stop them. Get government "off the backs" of business and they steal and waste the taxpayer's money.

Bush is an elitist. He never held the principles in our Constitution. They (elitists) want to replace our Democratic Republic with a facist one that is run by the wealthy, world bankers, and elite. These are not mistakes that have been happening.

More proof (as if it's needed) that George W. Bush is a textbook psychopath. In the face of damning evidence to the contrary, he doesn't think that he's done anything wrong. That's the mark of a true psychopath, Mr. Bush. You've been an embarrassment to our country from day one and January 20, 2009 cannot come soon enough. Our long national nightmare will finally be over.
I am NOT, however, looking forward to your replacement, Barack Hussein Obama, either. He seems to share the worst of Bush's narcissistic traits, and his ego is second to none. Never has so much trust and blind loyalty been conferred on someone so utterly lacking in the bona fides necessary to lead this nation.
Good luck to you, Mr. Obama, you're going to need it.
                      And Mr. Bush, good riddance.

No surprise there then. Having spent the last eight years in the closed world of his placemen cronies it is no wonder he has no concept of nor concern for how badly he has served his country. After all he and his circle have served their paymasters well, with for example record defense spending, and so his true job is done. The dramatically harmful impact of that on his "fellow Americans" and the wider world will be felt for many years to come and will take a very long time and much hard work to recover.
