Peter Fischer, director of performing arts agency Entertain Oz, said the financial climate was taking its toll. "Various entertainers, including Santas, are having challenges this year - some are saying that last year they had five bookings a week but now are lucky to get two for the whole month," he said.

This year is a very hard year for department stores and others, most likely Grandpa's and Daddys well be dressing up as Santa enless they have a friend like we do to go around my grandchilrens homes. and Grandpa well be going to school this year as Santa,we can't let our little ones down, just looking at the smiles and hearing them talk to Santa, makes everything worth the while. Plus it makes my day to know just how happy it has made them.

The goverment lower the price on gas and we all see it going down, and down.. And that is a good thing. BUT when the price of gas was going up, up and up.. AND THE PRICE OF FOOD, CLOTHES, AND EVERYTHING ELSE BECAUSE THE COST OF GAS, SO THE TRUCKS DRIVER HAD TO HIGHER THE COST TO DELIVER THE FOOD, CLOTHING. THIS IS GETTING SO ANNOYING THAT THE GOVERMENT IS HELPING THE CAR DEALER OUT AND EVERYONE ESLE! BUT THE PEOPLE, WE CAN'T SURVIVE ON EATING AND DRINKING CARS AND GAS! TO CONTINUE TO LIVE OR EXIST. WE HUMANS NEED FOOD AND WATER TO SURIVIVE. WE AS THE PEOPLE NEED TODO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! SO WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

"Cathy Dean, owner of Cathys Clowns, found companies are keeping Santas but cutting out clowns, who cost $200-$400 an hour.

I free for all the Santas but what's up with this discrimination against clowns?

I think its just time to tell the kids there is no santa. It's cheaper that way anyway...

Sorry. (Oh and I have three kids who figured it out on their own)

This goes to show that without the middle class everybody loses even the rich, because it is the middle class that makes everybody prosper and when the rich get too greedy, they too will eventually fail.

What is this world coming too. Goverments bail out Top Company , Banks and Car dealership. Next it will be airlines trains etc . It will go on & on. Give it to the real people that need it to pay off housepayments, car payment and charge cards .Doctor bills , food and let our children have a nice CHRISTMAS. THAT WILL STIMULATE THE ECONOMY. TOP EXC. NO BONUS, NO PAY RAISES AND A LARGE PAYCUT. I WORK FOR THE STATE . THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN US A RAISE FOR TWO YEARS. WE ARE LOW EARNING WORKER WHO HAVE BEEN SUFFERING. SCREW BIG COMPANIES BAIL US OUT AND INSIST THAT WHEN WE GET THE MONEY WE MUST ALL PAY OFF I DEPTHS. tHAT WOULD STIR THE ECONOMY AND NO ONE WOULD NEED ANOTHER GOVERMENT BAIL OUT.
