Bush reported to be drinking heavily »
Posted By jovial 1 year ago in News( WMR ) -- With less than two months remaining in office, George W. Bush, witnessing a devastating defeat for the Republican Party,
worse favorability ratings than those of Richard Nixon at the height of the Watergate scandal, and the most devastating economic situation since the Great Depression, is reported by a number of well-placed sources in Washington as drinking heavily.

“The White House press corps has been whispering about Bush’s drinking over the past few years. None dare write or speak about it lest their credentials are lifted and further access cut off by the most vindictive White House in American history.”
Reply
This is what both saddens and frightens me the most. We have a press corps that is so worried about the loss of their jobs that they are willing not to do the jobs that they are actually hired to do.
What does that say? It says that the companies that employ these spineless reporters have been and are willing to sacrifice reporting the truth because it may upset their bosses and jeopardize their incomes. Our country has suffered enough from this kind of "journalism."
It's one thing having a drunk for a president. It's another thing have a press corp of wimps, who have done more to enable and protect a president who has caused the loss of lives of hundreds of thousands of people. -

Didn't anybody notice that this is an article written by a guy that references his own web site as the source. He write something on his web site and then writes a report stating that his website reports this!!!!! Thats journalistic integrity.

Does this mean that Pelosi & Gang are drunks as well? I mean, you have to take a look at the lowest rated Congress in history led by our liberal friends and this has to mean that they are now 'hitting the bottle'.......... right?

I felt sorry for him after seeing the following video,

But I still find his policies utterly reprehensible and inexcusable. And I still think that he should be made accountable for the long and sordid list of crimes, ethics violations, and misconduct that his administration is responsible for.

I have a lower opinion of George W. Bush, than does Jovial.
Reply
I make this claim on the fact that I do not believe everything bad about Bush that someone claims.
In other words, I have a bad opinion about the man; not the imaginary creature my hate created.
This is a sleazy non-article without a shred of proof;
all quotes from anonymous sources - and no attempt to be balanced.
There is going to be a lot of this posted about Obama.
When they do it, we must call them liars, because their malice led them to sign off on any rumour.
So we must be careful not to do the same.
Bush is a warmongering idiot;
affirming proofless rumours about him, - bad strategy.
It's also dishonest.-

I will never go back to being a sheep again. When I finally woke up in 2006, I realized something. Democrats consistently were losing elections. The talking heads that dominated the radio waves during the day had a profound effect on the thinking of the people in this country. People like Michael (Wiener) Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Hannitty, and on and on. People went there for their news. Limbaugh and his ilk were more than happy to chew up the news and regurgitate for the American people to digest. It got so bad that being called a Liberal is akin to be called a SOB, a kook, or anti-american. If anyone thinks for a moment that we don't owe Stewart, Colbert, and the SNL crew gratitude for the outcome of this election, they ought to think again. The fact that the economy tanked was also a major contributing factor. We can't go back to the old sheepish behavior of the last ten years. They'll maul us like children in a lion's den. Crym, I know you don't particularly care for my modus operandi, but I feel it's necessary. You're welcome to disagree, but it won't change my mind until I see an effective way of winning elections without using these type of techniques. When the Republicans controlled Congress and the Senate and Bush was the President, they were ruthless. I watched C-Span as Democratic Congressman and women spoke and after their time was up they quickly overruled and the bills passed despite the objections. Some meetings and hearings that the Democrats wanted to have were held in the White House basement, because they weren't allowed to use the official chambers. How soon we forget. How soon we can forget and reach wholeheartedly across the aisle to those that if they had their way would find someway to silence us forever. Now's not the time for S'mores and kumbaya around the campfire. We must remain eternal vigilant and strong.

I agree. I changed my registration from republican to Democrat in 2003 after 30 years of voting Republican.

After all the death and destruction that Bush is responsible for we can easily stick with just the facts if we want to be critical. No need to throw in a few rumors too.
Actually Bush might have been a better president if he had been drinking heavily:) -

Even though I detest Bush, I too must question the validity of this article. I try not to blindly trust any one source on any topic. And since I cannot verify the sources, I cannot trust what was written on the blog.

However, it's not a stretch to believe that a former alcoholic/addict is back to his old tricks. Especially since addicts often do revert. -

Call me stupid or naive, whatever, I just find it almost impossible for even the most seemingly evil person not to have some sort of remorse, conscience, regret, guilt, something.......he has to feel something, he knows he took on the burden of responsibility for America, he knows what he's done, the 1,000s that died, the 100s of thousands suffering, in America alone. Only someone who hates America, hates human beings couldn't feel any of that, maybe he's trying to medicate himself so he can sleep at night, and be numb during the day. I still can't get over him saying 'every day I've been president has been joyous.'
Reply
If he's an alcoholic, I would feel sorry for him if he would take responsibility and step down (as long as he took Cheney with him) think of how much would have been saved if he had just said, 'sorry I can't do this' and found someone who could run the country.
Any way you look at it, it's just not right that so many suffer because of 1 man and his administration. He just doesn't seem burdened at all, and he should be.

We should make the reublicans pay for all this economic crap they started. We should also rate the credit card companies just like they rate us. Citi Corp. too high a credit risk,,,, Credit denied. Bail out payments set at 30% just like the rest of us.

This doesn't make me have any less respect for Bush, because I don't think that would be possible. But it makes me furious at the media, who is supposed to fearlessly report on serious issues that deeply affect job performance that the people of the US should know about the person in the position as our leader. No wonder he sucked so hard. I hope he has a long, slow, painful death from liver disease, since the son of a bitch obviously isn't going to prison as he should.

That said, I have a heart for those who turn to alcohol or drugs to try and take away their pain. I take no joy in the sadness of it. I too was once a drunk, drug using, lost and confused person.
The sadness and emptiness of it is pitiful. Instead of mocking him for it. I will pray for him and his family.
He should be removed from the office of POTUS and his foul deeds should be immediately addressed and rectified.
The war in Iraq should be looked at from the point of view that it was started by an incoherent drunken person of low moral values.
His whole presidency should be viewed with an eye for the foolish acts of an idiot on drugs or drunk.
Try him as the foolish criminal he is. Being a drunk does not give one the right to invade another nation and cause wanton death and destruction.
Lastly do not call him a Christian !!!! God warns in the Bible about a drunkard. Now he could have fallen, but I seriously doubt he ever was a true Christian.
Yes I will still pray for him, I still despise him, and I still think he is an idiot, but he is still the POTUS.-

The man has a sickness that millions of others all over the world have as well, however I believe that his callousness concerning his so called principles must have begun as gov. of Texas when he refused to pardon people on death row for whatever reason. That is when I started taking notice of him and looking at him as a human. The evaluation fell short.
Reply
The next critical moment was when I was glued to the TV on 9/11 watching what he was doing in Florida while chaos was ruling in NY and DC. I watched that video of him sitting in front of those children time after time. Something bothered me about his reaction and I just couldn't put my finger on it until 4 or 5 days later when I came to the conclusion that he knew about it. It was the only conclusion that could be reached considering him as a human. You can look at the YouTube video yourself again and see Andrew Card inform him at 1:01 minutes on BuzzFlash:
http://www.buzzflash.com/editorial/04/08/edi04057....
cbg, don't stop praying for him, but your prayers have to be answered through a miracle as that is the only thing that will drag him out of his cesspool of lies and deceit.

The pretender to the throne should have by law been immediatly impeached for stating that the Constitution was nothing but a goddamn piece of paper. He swore to protect and defend it. He had no right to speak for America once that statement left his lips. I hope he enjoys no peace of mind the rest of his life.

How exactly has GW defended our Republic?
Reply
Was it the day he decided to abandon our military efforts in Afghanistan to start a war with a sovereign nation that had nothing to do with the terrorists and the events on 9-11?
Was it in in July 2005, just a week after the London subway bombings, when Sen. Byrd proposed adding $1.2 billion for transit security grants and $265 million for rail security to the FY 2006 Homeland Security appropriations bill, an amendment that was rejected by Bush and Senate Republicans?
Was it when Sen. Schumer offered amendments to improve the screening of air cargo and to track the shipment of hazardous materials, another amendment that was rejected by GW and fellow Republicans?
Was it back in 2006 when he, along with the Republicans in Congress, refused funding to Sen Biden's comprehensive amendment to increase homeland security spending that included $1 billion for rail and transit security, $752 million for aviation security, and $150 million for chemical security?
Please tell me how GW has defended our Republic and kept us safe. Which prison is Osama Bin Laden in? Why are the recruiting numbers of Al Qaeda increasing instead of decreasing?
Excerpt from a 2006 letter to the President, written By Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), The President Elect:
"In short, Congress' failure to adequately fund homeland security has left our nation vulnerable to attacks.
The Administration also has submitted budgets that have called for decimating programs for first responders. This year, the Administration's budget proposed eliminating the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program and cutting funds for Emergency Management Performance Grants, both critical sources of homeland funds for our communities.
I am also disappointed that the Administration has not taken a lead in pushing for balanced and robust chemical plant security legislation, as Sen. Lautenberg and I have proposed. Five years after September 11, our nation's unguarded chemical plants remain tempting targets for terrorists.
In the days after 9/11, the nation was prepared to join together to shore up our defenses and fight the very real terrorist threat we are facing. Unfortunately, that strong sense of national purpose has been tossed aside in favor of partisanship and political brinkmanship. As a result, we are woefully unprepared today on a number of fronts, including rail, port, chemical plant, and cargo security.
Now more than ever, we need to come together to address the real security needs of the nation. I hope the White House and Congress can work to immediately address the 9/11 Commission recommendations and provide adequate funding to guard against terrorist attacks.
Sincerely,
Barack Obama

Prior to 2000, many of thought we would never see election fraud large enough to result in a stolen election, but in 2000 (and again in 2004) we were proven wrong. And prior to 2001, who would have ever thought that we would respond to an terrorist attack by going to war in a country that had nothing to do with it? But it happened....and we are now in a quagmire and are less safe as a result. And who would have thought we would have a president who would shred the Constitution -- including a compromise of 6 out of the 10 rights in the Bill of Rights? But with the USAPATRIOT Act, it has happened....
Not only has this president destroyed the Constitution, his political party, and the economy, but he's stretched the military too thin waging a war he should NEVER have started. He's deregulated out economy until it is literally on the verge of collapse. He's ignored illegal immigration with the blessings of Mexico and he's willing to make a permanent "guest worker" underclass for his industry buddies. He gave big oil sweet deals and record profits...in the meantime, killing over 4200 of our finest men and women....
As president, he is worse than Zachary Taylor, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, or Benjamin Harrison. Worse than Herbert Hoover or Richard Nixon. Jimmy Carter looks great in comparison...
In my opinion, he is absolutely the worst president in the history of this great country. And I cannot wait for January 20th, 2009!...
