Egypt Reopens Notorious Extra-Judicial 'GITMO' Camps »

Their new occupants are political activists and an assortment of other "troublemakers," and human rights groups are calling it an outrage.
But there is nothing the prosecutor general or any other civil department can do about it, said the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI).
Outspoken blogger Mohammed Khairi is currently being held in one of the infamous prison camps, in Fayoum.
Khairi, who was released from custody on Nov. 4 after state security forces ordered him to stop publishing on his garshkal.blogspot.com blog. But after resuming his writing, he was rearrested again on Nov. 16, and taken to Fayoum prison, an hour south of Cairo.
The government prosecutor ordered the young blogger's release, but because the camps are off-limits to judicial or legal scrutiny, the order was ignored.
