I got in the ring with De La Hoya when he was training for the '92 Olympics. Up in Mt. Baldy CA !!!!
I was an old man for boxing. In my 40's. LOL
I could see the punches coming but couldn't get out the way !!!! I'm surer that is how he felt about Pacquiao !!!!
He was good in his day, but just like all of us when ya get older, ya lose the speed. I'm still quicker than most with my hand speed, and can still dodge most punches from the untrained.
Because I'm trained and still have that muscle memory ingrained.
But young guys who are trained fighters, they are fast. -

Grandpa: You got guts! To get into the ring with a pro, even for a spar, takes a lot of courage.

Your experience echoes that of others I know who have had similar experiences. They tell me that the only way to REALLY understand the speed and power of a pro is to get into the ring with one! No thanks! I'll enjoy the experience vicariously.
In any case, Oscar had had more than his share of multi-million paydays. He has been good for the game and the game has rewarded him generously.
I hope he takes the mega-millions he got for this fight and retires with grace and dignity.

People will be talking about Manny all over the world in years to come just like the same way they talk about Oscar now. Congrats Manny! He is now a household name. Oscar should have retired a couple of years ago while he was top of his game.
