Have You Ever Had Road Rage? »
Posted By Newperson 1 year ago in NewsUp until now, Shirley Henson has led a quiet and fairly ordinary life in Shelby County, Ala.
She says she would describe herself as a generally happy person: "I just don't let things bother me." The 40-year-old legal secretary trains dogs in her spare time and lives with her husband, Michael, and son Steve.
Just miles away lived Gena Foster, also a mother - to 15-year-old Brittany, 11-year-old Christopher and Francie, who has cerebral palsy. Henson reached into the car console for the licensed revolver that she has carried since a stalking incident years ago.

I agree. Hansen appears to have the ability of self control that would belong to a two year old. But she isn't a two year old, and is a very dangerous woman because of that.

"I guess she was mad because I was a car length behind her," said Hansen. What a moronic statement. Of course she was angry! She was fearful for herself and her children that a moron with the thinking capacity of a two year old was putting their lives in danger! And it appears that Hanson didn't back off.
So the question was asked "Have You Ever Had Road Rage?" My answer is yes. And it was for the same reason. That woman backed off.

"Assistant District Attorney Randy Hillman maintained that Henson had other choices...", with this statement I agree, if one is scared and can get away, wouldn't you, rather than continue. That is my opinion, but who knows what one would do until it happens. Personally, it's not happened to me, although I have seen it happen.

About 20 years back I saw something that sill sticks in my mind. I was on the 10 FWY east bound by the Montclair Plaza exit, it was about 4:00PM on a Friday.

Anybody who has driven a freeway in So Cal on a Friday evening knows traffic is bad. We were stopped because some guy hit another guys car trying to change lanes. I'm watching this and getting annoyed because instead of pulling to the side they are yelling at each other.
So I'm just about to get out of my truck when I see this guy come running up with a long screw driver and he starts stabbing the roof of one of the guys cars yeling at them to get the fu*k off the road and let others pass.
Needless to say the two stopped arguing got in their cars and hauled ass down the emergency lane.
That convinced me to just stay in my car and be patient. LOL
To many nuts out there. -

Shirley Henson DESERVES to serve time for this and NOT a slap on the wrists. I've had people tailgate me also in THEIR big SUV'S and it does **** me off. I have told people off before for tailgaiting me,Especially when I'm already going 10 miles over the speed limit in the fast lane and they are right on my bumper. But this has gone tooo far.HENSON knew she was going to use her gun on that woman. She probally already had the gun out, knowing that she had ****** that woman off and if that woman came near here SHE (Henson) would have the last word. WITH HER REGISTERED gun. Makes you Wonder if she made up all that BULL CRAP stalking story to get a gun because SHE had made someone else come after her with road rage because she started it.

You can have all the road rage you want, but never get out of your car. One of the parties might have a weapon and bingo, you have a loss of life. no one deserves to lose their life over something like this. Unfortunately, too many people have a gun(for protection...)and an innocent person gets killed. A tragedy because you now have one person dead and another spending time in prison.

Right, NEVER get out of your car regardless. The reason being is that IF the perpetrator gets out of his/her car they can be charged with assault. If you also get out, then than makes the assault null and void. If you're following a little too close and the person in front jams on their brakes, THEY can be charged with criminal intent to do bodily harm here in Louisiana, the ultimate is manslaughter if you're killed as a result. Best to stay IN your car and let the other driver vent.

Seriously folks, don't tail gate, there's no reason for it, it only makes you look like an A-hole.
Reply
Does anyone here drive faster when someone is tail gating them? Probably not, it just doesn't work. If some one is in your way, go around them, you can't drive for them you can only control your own car.
Tragic story, I do think manslaughter was the right verdict though. -

One part of the shooters story doesn't hang for me, she said "whenever I would open up a space between us she would close it up" If she was following, how did she do that? If this was an interstate hwy, did it have at least 2 lanes? She couldn't go around? Why pull up so close behind someone at a redlight so that you can't get away from someone that scares you so badly?

Nope, this woman participated in the escalation, and then shot the woman. Manslaughter sounds like a just conviction to me on the face of the articles. -
