The poll found that young British women are more promiscuous than young British men, and it also found that the average 21 year old British woman has had nine sexual partners compared with seven for men.

Nor does 9 sexual partners by the age of 21 elicit the slightest trace of wonder or astonishment. Not enough wild oats sown, IMO.
Of course mine were sown pre-Aids and that is understandably an inhibiting factor.
But this article seems to depend on some archaic religious assumptions which are hardly aplicable to the largely pagan culture of the day in most of the world.
The US, while a pioneering and forward looking-nation in most respects, including sexual freedom, is also a strange holdout of dysfuctional repressive sexual attitudes. -

Gosh, I wonder how that compares with the percentage of British men who want to wait until after marriage to have sex?

I love the blog title. There is no moral collapse of America. Young people are hormone-driven. They always have been. It comes with the species. Lots of people are wild and then they come to value relationships and form families. It's good for males and females alike to sow the wild oats and then appreciate what is possible in a good relationship. But have safe sex and take precautions to avoid unwanted pregnancies. -
