In the 3rd century, worshipping jewish mythology was a capital offence. In the third century, NOT worshipping jewish mythology of virgin birth, son of a god, and the insanity of reanimation after death, was a capital offence.

Don't believe in virgin birth? In an afterlife? Merry christmas, you'll be burned to death or fed to lions. Or nowadays, banned from public office.

Religion is santified ignorance. We don't need priests to explain the universe anymore, never did. Then as now, Religion is in partnership with power, a means to control and pasify the populace while the rich control everything, own everything.

As far as the Feast of Tabernacles being meant to prepare people for the way Jesus would enter the world, this seems unsupported. According to the quick poking around I've done, it seems that it was to remind the Jewish people of their 40 years spent in the wilderness. Even if Jesus were born during the feast, it seems like that would have been more coincidental than incidental (or at least one Gospel writer might have commented on it.)

Actually, maybe John did, the following article is quite interesting:
      When was Jesus Born?
