OBAMA SAYS REVIEW CLEARS HIS AIDES

Illinois lawmakers took the first step Monday toward removing Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office as the disgraced Democrat conferred with a bulldog defense attorney known for taking cases to trial. Amid the developments, President-elect Barack Obama announced that a review by his own lawyer shows he had no direct contact with the governor about the appointment of a replacement for his Senate seat, and transition aides did nothing inappropriate.

    Good old American politics. Why are they wasting time voting to form a committee to see if they should impeach the governor? Start the proceedings without a committee.
