Posted By gdallaire1 1 year ago in ReligionSaint Gemma Galgani was the first canonized Saint to live in the twentieth century. She was born in 1878 and died in 1903. She was called by God to be a soul victim, that is, she was called to suffer especially for the conversion of sinners. Towards the end of her life she was given the stigmata and other extraordinary mystical graces. Her heart was on fire for the love of God and she had the gift of an authors self expression in that she was able to express her fervent love for God in her diary and autobiography, which she was ordered by her spiritual director to write.
