Sean Hannity: 2008 Misinformer of the Year »
Posted By Neophile 10 months, 3 weeks ago in Political NewsAs Media Matters for America has demonstrated time and again, Fox News' Sean Hannity has been a prolific and influential purveyor of conservative misinformation. But never has he so enthusiastically applied his talents for spreading misinformation as he did to the 2008 presidential race, focusing his energies primarily on President-elect Barack Obama. Day after day, Hannity devoted his two Fox News shows and his three-hour ABC Radio Networks program to "demonizing" the Democratic presidential candidates, starkly explaining in August: "That's my job. ... I led the 'Stop Hillary Express.' By the way, now it's the 'Stop Obama Express.' " Hannity's "Stop Obama Express" promoted and embellished a vast array of misleading attacks and false claims about Obama. Along the way, he uncritically adopted and promoted countless Republican talking points and played host to numerous credibility-challenged smear artists who painted Obama as a dangerous radical. When he was not going after Obama, Hannity attacked members of Obama's family, as well as Sen. Hillary Clinton and other progressives, and denied all the while that he had unfairly attacked anyone.

I don't care for Hannity. In fact, one of my reasons is that he tends to be bigoted towards some minority groups -- not too different from you referring to him as a "fat mouthed Catholic."
I have also been called "the big mouth Jew from New York". If you are ignorant of your bigotry, you might want to re-evaluate the manner in which he describe people. Using their religions in a derogatory manner detracts from whatever message you might have that is worthwhile.

Sean Hannity...yet another entertainer who brings out the sexual insecurities of liberals better than a wild boar sow in heat.

isn't liberals--or real consiervatives.. that have sexual insecurities.. .. and at least most liberals know whether or not they are gay or not.... neo-con christian conservatives seem to have a real problem with that...
while libs are out doing.. the cons are sitting home in a masturbatory frenzy listening to every word Rush and Hannnity et al have to say... -

I really can't accept Media Matters as credible. They're a Soros front group. That's like asking Carl Rove or George Stephanopoulos to be non-partisan. Not going to happen.
Reply
The other problem I have is your sides claims of his media status. Sean, Rush and the like are entertainers not reporters. If you're going to ask Sean to be a reporter then perhaps it's time the reporters actually do their jobs too. Ask the tough questions of Barry. How could he sit is a racist church for over 20 years and not realize their calling me whitey or cracker is racism. Better yet, how could he let his kids sit there too? How about explaining his careers? How does being an editor for a college paper or community activist prepares you for the White House. How about how he claims to care about the poor yet his own brother lives on less than a dollar a day. That alone speaks volumes. But again, the media will never ask those questions. They're all about hope & change. The hope that when he's done you might still have a little pocket change left.-

in your case I could see how that might fit...
you know what they say .. if the shoe fits....
and I'm a white guy.. who at times in the past before becoming enlightened .. those terms would have fit ME... -

Sean Hanity's only purpose is to grift money from morons who buy advertised products on Faux Noise.
Reply
He is paid by Rupurt Murdock, owner of the largest media empire in the world. Inshanity is told what to say, racist word for word, by his zionist neocon master, Roger Alies, director of Faux Noise.
It is hatemongering for the trailer trash of America. Murdock and Alies saw the tabloid market for uneducated hillbilly racists, and created the product Faux Noise, sold to the massive inbred scum of the earth creationist evangelical stupidest humans on the planet pack of slobbering hyena republican cousin humping cletis tent revival snake handling trailer trash goat herding arsewipes. -

media matters is about as non-partisan as move-on or the other dem/soros front groups--i think its a compliment to be singled out as their # 1 target--he certainly gets to obama like no one else--i expect all the hate-mongers here with so much to say about hannity have never actually listened to the show--like all good lib robots they just spout the kook-kos/rhodes talking points

"At several points throughout 2008, however, Hannity mischaracterized this statement, claiming that Obama "talked about in the campaign cutting tens of millions of dollars in defense spending," when Obama clearly said he would cut wasteful spending."
Reply
This is funny because to liberals, defense spending IS wasteful spending!-

Hannity-is The Great American Propagandist. With a laugh like Curly from The Three stooges(Nyuk-Nyuk, Knuk), most of his time on the air is stagged to get the psuedo-conserative message out to the masses of neo-clowns who listen to him. The Stop Hillar...um, er,.. Stop Obama Express, was a abject failure. Does he in defeat follow in the foot steps of many great Americans and reach across the isle to reconcile with the patriotic opposition. No he continues his bile, vile hatred and continue his destructive and devisive commentaries treating the majority in this country as if they were traitors.

all points made by media matters are slanted beyond the words spoken by hannity. take for instance the attack on pakistan comment. what hannity said is true. can you imagine the muslim outcry in pakistan. in fact the military did launch missles into pakistan recently and it really ****** the paki's off.
those of you that buy into the hate hannity world are yourselves intolerant slobs.
as for the mrs. obama she was in the fray casting one insult an untruth right after another. she was fair game for the opposition.
i love hearing brian williams state that "we really don't know alot about obama's thought process, values and apporaches do we?"
lets not forget that even obama is confused about what and who he is. shall i recite the george s interview where george had to remind obama he was suppose to say his "christian faith".
every day that passes you democrats sound more and more like the brown shirts of old. shall i remind you of the freedom of religion provision in our constitution. yet the queers in california rail at the churches for practicing and voting in accordance with their faith and teachings. and they shouted kill, kill, kill the pious bastards.
no thank you i think i shall oppose that mind set.-

Nope. Hanity repeatedly stated that Barack said he was going to Invade Pakistan. which of course is not true, Barack never said that.
Please leave your hatred of Gays out of this. That really wasn't the subject.

That's just a few, but there are some that could easily steal his title. People like Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Michal Wiener, Roger Hedgekook, and Glenn Beck. (Not to mention a few of our regulars on Propeller and their sock puppets) -

still amazes me how the libs here can go on a rant of name calling and pure hatred and call themselves democrats. I thought this was the party of understanding and free speech. I guess it is only when it agrees with your point of view. While I agree Hannity is almost as unwatchable as Bloberman he does have the right to speak his mind. When it comes to disinformation I think the king of that is Dan Rather. I will give you this if I hear Hannity say " Bill Ayers the unrepentant terrorist" one more time I'm going to blow up my tv. No one cares about it Shaun move on to something else.

Wow, isn't it great to see all the Un-American, greedy bigots come out to support Hannity! Fox News, the network that has identified Repugs as dems whenever they cross the line even; but, what do you expect from a network where the News editor is a consultant to the GOP, Roger Ailes?
