    Dissent is one thing, hate speech, lies, and smears is another entirely. Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, O'Reilly, et al pander to non-thinking, non-caring, radical right wingers that must be told what to think rather than having an original thought of their own.
    
    Sean Hannity doesn't even merit being referred to as a human being. He is absolutely scumsucking pond waste!

      Whoever sits here and tells me that media matters is a watchdog group and that we should take them seriously should have their head checked. Like the say, who watches the watchers? And who looks over those watchers?
      
      There has been disinformation coming from bot sides with a huge bias coming from the left wing media. this year there were 25 times magazines with Obama on the cover. There were 5 for Mccain with three of those being with Obama. Fox News had the most favorable coverage of both candidates while the rest of the news agency's all had around 60% favorable for Obama and 30% favorable for Mccain. But you know, that's why it's faux news because they give both sides of the story.
      
      Btw, did anyone here mention a man named Colmes? He is just as bad as Hannity as he is completely opposite of Hannity. So what the left and especially PROPELLER, wants you to believe is that there is a right wing conspiracy going on here and the left is the victim.
      
      But the facts tell a different story and it's up to you to figure it out. Not a left wing activist group like media matters.

        Did it ever occur to you that maybe there was more good stuff to report about Obama than McCain? Sometimes, when your supporters broadcast lies and misrepresentations, this reflects poorly on you. This is especially true when you do nothing to set the record straight. It wasn't until they started yelling death threats at his rallies that McCain finally said something. Then it was way too little, way too late.

    You continue to show your lack of intellectual horsepower. But of course as a loyal Hannity supporter that comes as no great surprise. Blowhards tend to flock together.
    
    The only ones dissenting are you wacko's on the far right. Obama has gone to great lengths to move into the center. But of course in your case this all falls on deaf ears and blinded eyes.
    
    It's funny to look back and realize just how much you all disliked McCain and only voted for him in the hopes he would fall over dead and we could have that "Redneck Woman" Palin as President. The man was brilliant on ABC Sunday Morning. Back to his old pre-2000 self. A candidate I could have once supported but not against Obama in '08. But it is time the world stopped laughing at us because of our leadership. And they aren't laughing at Obama or his cabinet picks. Palin would have raised that level to an hysterical pitch even as VP. They aren't laughing now. Time to get to work again according to McCain.
    
    And Palin is going to really have fun with her own state budget now that oil has dropped precipitously. Now we will get a chance to see her real moxy as Governor. Now she's got some real issues to deal with rather than redistributing profits that simply fell into her lap. Can the weathergirl from Wasilla really govern? We shall see....
    
    Those like yourself and Sean will sit on the curb and bit-h and complain. Seething with anger, still apparently unaware you just lost an election.

        We have gone out of our way not to gloat. There isn't anything left to gloat about...far too much damage has been done to this country. Yet there is no defending Hannity, or his fans for that matter. His negative narrow minded views brought us the likes of the Bush Administration.
        
        Palin never was and never will be any salvation for America. And John McCain is not a horrible person, just someone who made a Faustian deal to get the nomination and by the end of the campaign had no belief in his own message. Those points would seem to be hard to dispute.
        
        I am an agnostic and I have no problem with Rick Warren. I don't share his beliefs but I determine a person's character based on whether their message has any positive effect on others. What am I then if I would prefer Mr. Warren's generally positive Christian message to the shrill cries of the gay community that I hardly see as oppressed? Does that make me less a liberal? It's not that I vigorously oppose gay rights its that I see about a thousand issues ahead of gay marriage on our national priority list. We all have our differing beliefs. You can't just pin someone down with a label. IMO there is a lot that needs repairing on both the Left and Right. I like the work Obama has done so far. Shutting out for the most part the extremes.

    Sean Hannity doesn't often deliver "news"..
    There was one Hannity/Colmes program in mid-October I watched with a room full of my Republican friends and, one by one, they turned their heads in disgust as he referred to Obama and Rev. Wright or the the weatherman guy 6-10 times..
    He was relentless in weaving his unrelated "shots" at Obama during a show that was dedicated to discussing (supposedly intelligently) the financial crisis and the ramifications of the bailout..
    He is, and has been a planted lackey/stooge for the anti-democrats for a long time.
    He had his "stop Hillary express relentlessly forced on us for nearly 8 months.
    He deserves no recognition as a credible news personality...He's a trained seal and a smug clown with pretty hair. If Limbaugh weren't so fat and ugly he's be on Fox too..He has a face for radio..

  Locky, I'm not sure what your point is regarding who founded media matters.
  
  The topic at hand is 'Disinformation'.
  
  Now, no one would care if Rupert Murdoch owned FOX if he had chosen to promote objective truth.
  
  And no one would care if he hadn't placed Roger Ailes in charge if Roger had carved out an objective approach.
  
  But Rupert, who happens to be an Australian, ...(and who had to bribe Republican Legislators to change a law that forbade foreigners to own our media) ... chose to hew a strict right wing perspective ... on all issues.
  
  And Roger Ailes ... (former RNC campaign commando) ... has chosen to further his credentials as a rabid, partisan 'pit bull' campaigner.
  
  I see Media Matters is simply a response to the disinformation being purveyed by FOX. It's a self avowed watch-dog to this 'foreigner's' (Rupert's) perspective.
  
  Personally, I salute ANY effort that counters Propaganda. Perhaps if in pre-WW2 Germany, more people stood up to the immense power of the NAZI Propaganda machine, WW2 may never have happened.

  And believe me, Locky, there will ALWAYS be room for dissent in America.

        Dude, if you can't see the ties between Obama and the Chicago political machine then either you are stupid, or you haven't read anything about who Obama is friends with and who the people he nominated for his staff are friends with.         Dude, if you think Obama is tied to Blagojevich and others in Chicago "Machine" politics in any other way than that they are from the same city and thus were sometimes forced to work with each other, then you don't really understand Chicago politics.
        
        Searching for articles in which Obama is mentioned in the same sentence as corrupt Chicago regulars, as you suggest, proves nothing. If you'd lived here for the past 12 years and paid attention to local politics, you'd know--Obama is clean, as are a few other Chicago Democrats who aren't on the national stage.
        
        If you don't believe Sarah Palin is corrupt, even though she comes from Alaska, where Ted Stevens and Don Young rule Republican politics, then why would you believe Obama is dirty simply because he's from Chicago?

        Jon Stewart is an entertainer on Comedy Central. I find him amusing. Hannity is on Fox NEWS and doesn't seem to consider himself a comedian. Do you know the difference between news and entertainment?

        I want people to acknowledge that there is a difference between fact and opinion. I do not want disinformation to be presented as NEWS. Yes, Olbermann admittedly leans to the left, but I'd like to see a piece similar to this comparing how far his statements veer from the truth vs. Hannity's.

        Good point. What seems to be lost on thei righties is why would FOX sue to be allowed to twist the facts?? And WHY would a news organization WANT to twist the facrts other then to tamper with the evidence and take people in directions the real evidence doesnt lead.
