I find that the right is so callous, so embittered, so mercilessly humorless, and so pathological, there is literally NOTHING that the Right feels any reservations about saying.
For instance, I just got this PM from DropKickALib.
"Stick to molesting children instead of me, Gimpy.
Now granted, Droppy is one of the most perverted of my fellow Christian Conservatives ... nevertheless ... this fellow has a strong following among those among the right.

The question is, why don't *you* want to talk about the right given that you're rabidly critical of the left, pc? You like to send these tiresome stories out rapid fire so you should be prepared to explain all the ways those you support are different. The only reason you're deflecting and attacking is because you know you can't do that. You can only operate in sending mode. Reverend Wright is an African-American of an age to remember grandfathers or uncles or family friends who were lynched.

Innocent men, pulled from their homes, taken to the woods, beaten, hung by their necks, having their GENITALS CUT OFF AND PUT INTO THEIR MOUTHS, dowsed with gasoline, and shot in the face with a shotgun.
This happened AGAIN and AGAIN and these murderers were never brought to justice, often because the local sheriffs or law enforcement WERE THERE HELPING.
If those had been YOUR relatives being murdered, and these actions were ignored or condoned by the United States, YOU WOULD NEVER FORGET and I'm sure YOU would be saying Goddamn America! (In fact, I've seen "Conservatives" sayng worse just because they have to pay taxes.)
There are old photos of daytime lynchings where little white CHILDREN are standing looking at the murdered man's twisted corpse, smiling. Often, the black men's children saw it too, but they weren't smiling.
Also, there are written accounts by proud participants where they encourage their children to "Stretch the ni*ger's neck by pulling on his legs."
A little anger lingering from those days, at the country that allowed it, is understandable.-

--crespi, as usual you make a great deal of sense but I'm afraid your wisdom is lost on most people here. Many of them have no clue why black people and other minorities shun the GOP or they know and don't care. In fact, many think it's beneath them to try to reach out. They don't care what black people went through (or still go through) and they aren't even genuinely offended by *what* Rev Wright said as much as they are p'od by their warped perception that he (and, more importantly, Obama) got away with something. We know they weren't truly offended because right wingers are able to see nuances--when they want to. Just look at how they leap to defend their hero Rush and others on the right when they make some racist, homophobic, or other bigoted remark. These people don't care about cultural sensitivity. The only time they talk about racism is when they're dismissing it or minimizing it.

The Rev Wright thing is just another giant filthy smokescreen right wingers have been using to try to drive a wedge between different groups from the left. Since they haven't been smart enough to figure out the right carrot to attract more minorities to the party, the best they can hope to do is provoke infighting in hopes that it will splinter the left. Last year they tried to use immigration and this year they're using gay rights. And just look at the McCain campaign. What Einstein in the GOP thinks it's good pr to cast all muslims as terrorists? Anyway, Nov we saw that hispanics and latinos have begun to flee the GOP in droves and that more women are getting wise to all the ways the GOP screws them and their families. It's just more of the same desperation we've seen from the right in recent years as they've become less and less relevant. ;-( -

Wright comes along with very damning comments about our country and the left wants to condone it by saying look what happened during his grandparents time, so it's ok. The president elect only quit the church when he realizes it was very damaging to his chances at the white house. 20 year member and claims he didn't know that was going on!!! Lots of people think Limbaugh is humorous, entertaining and insightful. I'm not one of them. But does the fact that I find him disturbingly hideous, creepy, vulgar, obnoxious, ignorant, sleazy, loathsome, nauseating and thoroughly lacking in socially redeeming qualities mean he's untalented? After the Bush/Cheney administration sent our troops into battle knowing there existed IEDs but didn't tell our troops, refused for some time to supply them any armor for vehicles, profited with international arms dealers who sold to both sides including those who used the weapons to kill American troops, increased tours to five when initially denying they would, firing experienced generals who told them how to correct their mistakes to quickly win, refusing to publicly read or honor the names of our fallen for many years, cutting wounded veteran's funding, saying there is no such thing as post traumatic stress syndrome or shaken brain syndrome, sending the wounded to hell-hole Walter Reed "hospital," taking the National Guard and sending them to a front line on a foreign shore so they could not help American Katrina victims, and do you remeber that 5 day period a few years ago where FoxNews tried blaming the falure of the surge on THE TROOPS (they stopped THAT in a hurrry after realizing the hypocrisy of pushing the whole "if you question the Iraq war you aren't supporting our troops" line,) and let's not forget how our "Commander In Chief" wasted the lives of our brave soldiers in the first war by letting the Taliban reclaim most of Afghanistan.
I think A WHOLE LOT OF our military know which party fought for funding for armor in battle, and care their wounded. Hint- IT WASN'T THE NEOCON REPUBLICANS.-

I'm sure you must be formidable if you are angry if this is the nice you. I'm stll far from impressed.
The insurgents weren't part of the battle plan they came after the occupation began after we won the ground war and the IEDs came about after the main battle took place. The equipment that was sent there was what was available at the time, which BTW were known that they would be prone to be blown up by any sort of munition, you know like things get blown up in a war? -

Brainwashed? Whose navy delivered aid to the tsunami victims? Who put the Taliban out of business? Which country send more humanitarian aid to Africa than all others combined? Which country spends more on AIDS research than all others combined? Which country feeds more starving North Koreans than all others combined?
Can I love my child and offer criticism? YES, but I should also remember the great deeds they do and that is how I see my country. Was I proud when Clinton blew up the aspirin factory? No, it gave me a headache. Was I proud when he dabbled in Somalia and cost pointless lives? No. Am I happy when I read about an Iraqi family that lost a loved one in an accident? No.
All that being the case, I still know the answers when asked which is the most generous, kind, and heart-feeling country in the world. When you point out the misstep, remember to point out the success as well.-

I think most people on Propeller would find my sentiment true.
Geesh ... y'all on the right are amazingly touchy. Can't even send a Christmas Greeting without screaming 'The Sky Is Falling, The Sky Is Falling'.

and how do you know i dont,,,,i try,,although im not apparently as perfect as you and your fellow propeller mates,,,,i didnt log on to trade insults,,,which seems to be the norm nere,,,i did it to exchange,,and debate and defend the principles that i believe in,,,,,im a christian too...but that alone doesnt mean anything other than you believe jesus christ was the son of god,,,was born of this earth,,,died for your sins and was ressurected and will return,,,,,good deeds are the work of jesus......my prayers may seem worthless to you,,,,sorry but not to me and thank you for praying for me,,,,i hope you mean it,,, i do,,,,,,thanks for the welcome,,,,keep it civil,,,stay with the facts and before long my friend you and il will sit next to each other,,,even if only in the court of ideas,,,,goppy you still are loved even if you reject the concept of the power of prayer,,,,shortly i would guess something will present itself to you as proof,,,,and the goppy youll be free to truly believe

In fact the Right is criticized by the Left for even going to church much less Ref. Wright's church. Just don't let the Left catch anyone from the Right doing anything even close to that. -They can do dope...we learned about coke from Bush.
-Screw interns...well, if it keeps them out of bathroom stalls in airports...
-Undermine the military...like sending them into battle with no armor, or making an army a police force, or using a mechanized force where an army is needed?
