Seldom does mainstream media focus on the underlying cause of war in Iraq.

Owned by the corporations profiting from war in Iraq, the media demands silence from its broadcasters; "Do not blame lust for oil on American interests in Iraq!" The message is coming through loud and clear.

When John McCain accidentally promised the nation that we will never have to send our troops to war again because of oil, the elephant in the middle of the room finally appeared on national television. Before and since then, msm has returned to its strategy of silence; pretending that oil has nothing to do with U.S. involvement in Iraq and Iran. The truth about oil is not something that is open for discussion on mainstream media.

Most reputable economists and educated people know that if the U.S. had abundant resources of oil available at home,Iraq and Sadam Hussein would have remained diplomatic friends, as they once were. U.S.intelligence has revealed the truth: that our government lied to Sadam Hussein -- promising him that we would not interfere if Iraq were to attack Kuwait. U.S. corporate strategists wanted an excuse to attack Iraq and they found one when Iraq attacked Kuwait. That America gave Hussein a green light to do so is not often admitted to by the propagandists representing U.S. mainstream media. The first gulf war and the Iraq war were both orchestrated and premeditated attacks inspired by the oil clan, father and son oil men, George Sr. and Jr.

As the last oil reserves in Iran, the U.S. and throughout the world are consumed, the greedy chase for for oil in the Sudan and the middle east will continued to compel nations to find excuses for conflict.

But the end is not far off...Oil is a limited resource that is rapidly dwindling.

          Solar batteries for example.

"Owned by the corporations profiting from war in Iraq, the media demands silence from its broadcasters; "Do not blame lust for oil on American interests in Iraq!""

Corporate control of the media is certainly one of the filters. But there is a far stronger one.

The media gets its information either through "embedded reporters" who see exactly what the military wants them to see, or directly from the military in the form of press releases and similar.

There is not a great deal of opportunity for independent media coverage of the Iraq occuption.

But the info is out there. Anybody who wants to understand the motives behind the invasion of Iraq, and the planned invasion of the remainder of the Middle East, need only read up on what the PNAC and its associated neoconservatives have been saying. It's no secret, it's right out in the open. The thing is, the stuff has been out there for years, so it would be problematic for a news outlet to regurgitate it now as "news."

I know we are a generation of people, world wide, who depend on the extraction of oil from the earth, but what a nasty thing it is! Fires that have killed an untold number of people, oil spills that have killed an untold number of sea life, and fowl. Emissions that destroy our air, and health. As much as we have come to depend on it, i wish i could live to see the day that it's no longer used or needed.

Like it or not, that day will come. Oil is a limited resource and geologists can predict with accuracy the end is not that far off.

I really believe there are viable, affordable alternatives, but there were too many people getting too rich off fossil fuel, and their money squashed the possibility of it being introduced to the public before now. Even now, i would say they are still in control of how much is being allowed in the efforts of introducing alternatives.
I have read articles about the massive amount of energy generated by our oceans, and how that energy could be used to fuel the whole world indefinitely. I don't know if it can be harnassed to fuel vehicles, but i have also read articles that basically prove that our vehicles can be fueled by used vegetable oils, water, and air!

There have been fuels that have been invented, patented, and are currently used by their creators that are safe and effective non-fossil fuels, but they are being blocked from production. These patents are usuallybought up and then put into the deep freeze by the oil companies.

Exactly. However, they're going to have to be brought out of that deep freeze eventually.

Fuels and technology will be brought out of the freezer for us to use but at what cost, remember who we are dealing with.

IMHO, it wouldn't surprise me if they can use water as fuel for energy.......

Water is pure liquid energy...Hydrogen and oxygen in one neat little package.

I sure wish I knew the secret of making it burn.

I hope the American people continue to limit their usage of all oil products further causing it's fall in the market.

I would like to see an end of the oil based economy before I die. I would like to see electric cars powered by solar energy. I would like to see homes and buildings heated and cooled by geothermal energy. I would like to see the Saudis begging for alms. The technology is nearly there. We can do it. Thanks Spade, great vid. Bolero is another of my favs.

Alternative energy will not enable us to live as we do now once oil becomes scarce. We have created an infrastructure which was possible only with the extravagantly wasteful use of fossil fuels.

The smart ones are already preparing for the changes, learning to grow food, harvest water, and otherwise radically reduce their environmental footprint.
