It's nice to see you devoting time lately to outrage at media lies.
Now, how about if we all get together and voice our OUTRAGE at Rush Limbaugh?
After all, my fellow Christian Conservatives really DO listen to his every word ... as if he is their Messiah!
Here, check out these lies that Rush has broadcast to the nation ... and never retracted...
-- "It has not been proven that nicotine is addictive, the same with cigarettes causing emphysema [and other diseases]." (Radio show, 4/29/94) ... LIE ...
You'll love this one, my fellow ditto heads ...
-- On the Republicans' "Contract With America": "The New York Times never ran anything on the contract 'til after the election. The rest of the news media hardly talked about it at all." (TV, 4/6/95)
REALITY: In the 42 days between the announcement of the "Contract with America" and the Nov. 8, 1994 election, the New York Times published 45 articles that mentioned the contract--more than one a day. The Nexis computer database reports that more than 1400 pieces mentioning the contract were published before the election.
This one is especially sweet ....
"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods, which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.
What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too.
...We are becoming too tolerant as a society, folks, especially of crime, in too many parts of the country.... This country certainly appears to be tolerant, forgive and forget. I mean, you know as well as I do, you go out and commit the worst murder in the world and you just say you're sorry, people go, "Oh, OK. A little contrition."... People say, "I feel better. He said he's sorry for it." We're becoming too tolerant, folks. Limbaugh TV show (10/5/95)"

I know you get off on pillorying Rush Limbaugh for the lies that he tells. I sometimes compare his lies to Keith Olbermann's and see that there are many similarities.

This story is about the New York Times, though. The famed Gray Lady of journalism. The newspaper that has garnered about 100 Pulitzer Prizes and used to be considered the purveyor of "All the news that's fit to print."
They are not to be compared to Rush Limbaugh or Keith Olbermann because that's like comparing a sleek Thoroughbred race horse to a couple of big eared jackarses. Two different classes of standards that each of these entities are judged by and held to.
Well, guess what? The New York Times has fallen on hard times financially and their integrity is at an all time low.
So, since you are trying to distract with your propagandishly, talking point supported rhetoric, it might lend more creedence to your claim of being a Centrist if you were to offer an opinion on how the New York Times is either at fault or innocent in this matter. I happen to think that it's a substantial burden of proof that Ms. Iseman has to work towards to win her suit and that this will probably not go much of anywhere.
Not that the New York Times isn't a shell of it's former self and should be ashamed of the decline of their journalistic integrity.-

The story is about lies.
But I see where you are coming from in part of your rant.
Your point regarding the New York Times financial difficulties plays well with your support for Rush Limbaugh and his phenomenal success and very large audience!
I've understood for a long time that my fellow Christian Conservatives equate the Majority with 'Rightness'.
If something is 'popular' ... it must be right.
So .... I guess that means that Britney Spears should be president ... Maybe Kevin Federline could fill in as temporary Veep ... and Jennifer Lopez should be Secretary of State.
The 9 finalists from American Idol shall be our Supreme Court.
And ... far be it from me to criticize your "non-biased" assessment of media ... (ROTFLMAO) but you DO realize that you are criticizing the New York Times 'journalistic integrity' while saying nothing about the fact that Bill Kristol writes for them .... OR .... the fact that ALL newspapers are on their way out.
And of course ... you've said nothing to deny the WILLFUL lies by Rush Limbaugh ... who many on the right claim to be a JOURNALIST.
In fact, your old sweetheart ... luvmyprez - AlphaGnosis - redtomato ... once published a story to great fan fare ... that Rush Limbaugh was paid astonishingly more than the Mainstream Media News Anchors ... as if Rush Limbaugh were a journalist.
And Keith Olberman? pfft ... who listens or watches him?

How did I deny the lies of Rush Limbaugh when above, in my response to your intitial obfuscation, I clearly typed that his lies are similar to Keith Olbermann's? It's comprehension based and your hatred doesn't allow comprehension to take place. Take a deep breath and read again what I typed above. Now, how did this story not point to a lack of journalistic integrity on the part of the New York Times? It's simply understandable just as your lack of response to this theme of this story is understandable.-
