"You know", and You Had the Nerve To Criticize Sarah Palin,"You Know" »
Posted By pc25 11 months, 1 week ago in NewsSilly fun from Cuffy Meigs. The audio’s no outlier, either: Try counting how many times “you know” appears in the transcript of her chat with NY1 on Friday. My favorite soundbite featured no fewer than three utterances in the span of 20 words.

Since I'm not in New York, my opinion doesn't matter, however she hasn't impressed me favorably so far. One clip I saw she said 'you know' about 12 times in under one minute. Not being qualified doesn't bother me, it seems the more 'qualified' they are the more ways they know of to screw us.

I like Caroline Kennedy. She has done some good works for a lot of people. I have no ill feeling for her, however, the good people of NY deserve better stronger representation. With her lack of knowledge she would be a golden goose for crooked politicians to easily sway in their direction. That's what is troubling, she is very naive.

I don't believe she is naive. I believe she is highly intelligent and as qualified as anyone else in the running. However, I do believe she is very nervous and uncomfortable in the political limelight because she is not used to it. It make take a minute for her to settle down and hit her stride, but I think all this condemnation and condescension toward her is unwarranted and petty.

In the case of Sarah Palin, I think a lot of people were rooting for her in the beginning, but she continually shot herself in the foot and proved to be all personality and no practicality.

She's sounds like she's about 12 years old. Sarah is a genius in comparison!

How come the media isn't poking fun and trashing Kennedy like they did to Sarah?
Oh that's right, sorry I forgot. Kennedy is a democrat, we don't trash on Democrats.
It's all a one way street.-

Um...I couldn't stand Palin because of her idiotic rhetoric, outdated ideas and her unending hypocrisy. I don't live in New York so this appointment really doesn't affect my life in the slightest. Having a complete and utter moron who wants to call us all home to heaven would have a negative impact on my life.

If Kennedy is as stupid as she sounds, then she will fit right in and will be very bad at her job, just like all the rest of them. PERFECT CHOICE! Let's try to fill all seats with RETARDS! I Think were at about a 95% Retard Rate right now, keep em' coming!

See?
George W. Bush has lowered the bar to such depths ... the local Dog Catcher in Ocala could be considered qualified ... if his last name were BUSH, of course!

It behoves me to read the utter hypocrisy of some of this Nations residence. Your current president has been on the world stage for the best of eight (8) years, spreading his so called democracy to the world by droping bombs and trying to annihilate the english language whenever he opened is mouth. I did not hear not even a whisper coming from the masses. This young lady has only uttered that she has an interest in serving her country, and you bastards are ready to character assassinate her. Get a life you vipers!

I think alot of the trashing here is do to the fact that EVERYONE was totally trashing Sarah Palin for no real good reason.

Kennedy makes Palin look like a genius in comparison. I say, what goes around comes around. I sure didn't see any of you Democrats sticking for Palin! So, it's Kennedy's turn, and rightfully so.

Caroline Kennedy is not the only person who cannot talk very long without using, "you know". It's a shame but that's pretty much all you hear when an athlete talks or almost any teenager. If we all started saying, "no I don't know, tell me" maybe people would stop and think about what they are saying.

It is no more than a nervous habit for many people, and an effort to try to cover it up. It has nothing to do with a person's intelligence, knowledge, or serious qualifications to serve. Many brilliant people are not articulate, just as many articulate people are not brilliant, but fillabuster through things.

I was actually always intrigued by her until she came out of hiding..just her life in general, she is just one year older then I am..that said it's obvious that she led a sheltered life, even thou she was raised a kennedy, I don't think her mom did her justice keeping her "protected" all those years. she certainly does not have social skills..very sad!!

Exactly! A transition to public life is very new for her and she may be undergoing a period of adjustment, but I'll wager she's a quick study and very much up to the task of U.S. Senator from New York if given the opportunity to serve.

I agree with some of the other comments. Just because her name is Kennedy does not make her qualified. We have such short memories. It's a little like slamming your hand with a hammer and saying ouch that hurts I think I'll do it again. Look at the gwbush. He had to be put in office because of his name, he sure was not qualified or even have the intelegence. An unnessasary war, a crumbling economy and middle class..Eeven worse than not qualified he is a criminal.

Do you mean SOCIALIST .... as in George W. Bush?
Reply
Remember, when George W. Bush and his partners wanted to build a Baseball Stadium ... their FIRST step was to get the City of Arlington to RAISE taxes to build it for them.
Then ... GW and his partners took ownership.
Is THAT the kind of SOCIALISM you are talking about?
Or are you talking about the kind of SOCIALISM that George W. embraced when he decided to STEAL 200 acres from Arlington citizens ... by using the SOCIALISTIC practice of Eminent Domain.
Hmmm .... maybe the issue is that you don't know what SOCIALISM is.
But rather, you believe in CHAMPIONISM ... a practice whereby you ALWAYS root for people you think you like ... and MAKE UP non-sensical words calculated to castigate people you think you DON'T like.
Either way ... your comment has no basis in reality ... like most of what the Modern Republican Party embraces.
For instance ... Trickle Down Economics ... whereby the Government funnels massive amounts of money to the Wealthy ... with the belief (false perception) that it will 'Trickle Down' to those .... 'less deserving'.
LOL!!!
I won't go into GW's BAIL-OUT package ... which fits the definition of SOCIALISM ... TO ... A ... TEE.

Name aside, politics aside, is she qualified to be a Senator from NY? Probably just as qualified as Hillery. The fact that she has to speak using "you know" demonstrates that she's not quick to think on her feet. Any phrase such as "hmmmm", "You Know" is only a pause to give someone a chance to think. It would appear that rather than think what is to be said, some,, like Bush, would rather just come out and say something stupid. Bush could have used some Reagan, "Wells". He would have sounded smarter. Personally, I'd rather have someone with common sense, who's not a great communicator than one without a lick of sense who is able to turn a phrase.
