I guess it wasn't enough for Illinois narcissist Blago to cast a self-centric shadow over this historic inauguration, now Richardson faces circumstances that force him to withdraw his name from the process.

Democrats...they deserve themselves. What a pity we in the GOP have no representation in Washington to take advantage. All we have are honorable no-names and RINOs.-

Well, the charitable side of me wants to think that he still could be a good guy and that he might just be doing what he thinks is best for his friend and President-to-be Barack Obama. Whether he is guilty of wrongdoing or not, I think it will be interesting to see the domino effect to politicians on both sides (because we *know* that whatever Richardson's been up to, he has LOTS of company--again, on both sides of the aisle).

The Obama team knew about this investigation BEFORE Richardson was selected and announced

Seems to me that something is missing here
Was there a disagreement between Obama and Richardson over something else OR do they have the goods on Richardson in the investigation?-

--Exactly what "this" did Obama know about? You're being vague and trying to sound ominous (usually a sign you're manufacturing HORSECRAP).
"Was there a disagreement between Obama and Richardson over something else OR do they have the goods on Richardson in the investigation?"
--100% CRAP and speculation. Period. ;-( -

The extent of muddy insinuations you cons continue to spew doesn't surprise me one bit. What's that phrase that comes to mind..."a leopard doesn't change it's stripes, only rearranges them to suit it's environment." Yeah, I made up the last part.

I am not a fan of Richardson. I believe he is, however, an honorable man.

Richardson, as governor, established a group to oversee many capital improvement projects, mainly highway transportation and mass transit issues. So far, more than 40 projects have been initiated with nine or ten completed. The budget, at least so far, has been about $1.6 billion.
CDR is a financial advisory firm, the firm that is linked to this contrived scandal and one that was needed to manage the monies involved over the long haul. Others may have been considered to fulfill this function.
In question are the donations to certain campaigns of the governor. In fact, I appreciate anything anyone who contributed to the defeat of two of the worst candidates the Republicans could have fielded against Richardson. And I cannot fault anyone contributing to his bid for the Democrat nomination for president; he was, after all, better qualified than the current president-elect to have run for the presidency.
Until it is proven that he received donations in return for influencing contract awards to CDR, I am willing to wait for proof that he participated in a "pay-for-play" scheme.
And shame on those idiots on this site who immediately try to shift attention from the problems of Obama and the Democrats to past, unrelated errors of Republicans.
And a big "thank you" to Richardson for withdrawing his name and leaving New Mexico with Denise Dennish as governor! -

Look, it's becoming apparent that we have no honest politicians to lead us any more.

Just so happens this one it's DEMOCRAT that's in the hotseat. So, we will trash on him, just as if he was a Republican. I do understand, most in here prefer to keep dishonest DEMOCRATS out of the spotlight, and only trash on Republicans. That's just TO BAD, isn't!
Heeheehee...BAD DEMOCRAT, BAD BAD BAD Demmies.
There you go, give me all sorts of NEGS for posting this. Also be sure to call me lots of nasty names and stuff too please! -

"Saying "Republicans are worse" is not a valid excuse. How about holding both parties accountable for their actions?"

--Please don't do that--get up on your high horse as if you people correct your own damned selves when you do the very same CRAP on here. Americans are, in the main, very greedy, very lazy and not too bright. Some people love to claim that they are such hard workers and that they don't love handouts and they're so full of integrity. We're sending the same people back to Congress over and over again and still moaning (or gloating) over the fact that Congress has record low approval ratings.

We're going to have to wait and see what the grand jury says about Richardson. I don't want to assume him guilty, but it's hardly likely that a grand jury would be called without sufficient evidence. I'm fed up with dirty politicians, and hope whoever IS dirty gets their due.

Better to betray a friend(?) than to betray your country. We have an obligation to support and vote for whomever we deem to be best suited to lead our country forward. Leadership of the United States of America is far too serious a responsibility to be victimized by displaced/misplaced feelings of loyalty...a lesson many politicians and political-minded citizens have yet to learn.
