Well, if we taught our kids MORALS then we would not have a problem of this magnitude.

When our kids have $luts like Britney Spears as their idols, then what do we expect from our kids, $LUTS! Gee Mom, is it ok if I wear a short dress to school with no underwear on? Is it OK if I spread my legs and show all the boys what I got? If it's good enough for Brittney, then I want to do that kind of stuff too! I want to be just like Britney Spears!-

You mean like Gov. Palin taught her daughter morals?

Maybe you should read the study about children who make moral virginity pledges. Turns out they're no more or LESS likely to engage in sex. BUT it does turn out that they're MUCH less likely to use protection.

4thchance good luck to young women who want a virgin as well.....unless it's not important to you for males to be virgins..........and my guess is, there's more females that are virgins then males.

Ah yes, the sexist claptrap that lead to the sexual revolution in the first place: Women are expected to remain virginal and anyone who doesn't is a '****'. Men? Well, 'boys will be boys', or even worse, 'they're sowing their wild oats before settling down'.

I have a very close and beautiful friend who remained a virgin until her wedding night... well, technically. I know she engaged in some sexual activity with her partner before then, just no intercourse. But she was one of 6 of us at a Catholic school who remained thus. This from a group that was one of the purest in our high school.

Your comment, btw, reeks of sexism. What about young women who want to marry virgins? Shouldn't that be the same ideal in a world of abstinence until marriage? Or is it just women who are supposed to abstain?

I don't. I find it very sad. If a child feels this is what they're supposed to do, there are problems. Either the child is looking for the community or feeling of family that their family isn't providing or some other issues. Being loved or needing protection or inclusion. I'm not a counselor but I do work with youth. So many problems are reduced in 2 parent families, it's amazing. Increase the success rates when mom & dad take an active role in the raising of the children. Replace daddy with a check and you start to have major problems.
