Well Libs r funny, good to see you hope your well. But the article is about Spain and the anarchists, there are lessons to be learned for the US, but not every circumstance is exactly the same, and I think we all understand that. Though for instance, in my generation (Obama's as well, he's not THAT much younger than me) what you say was true. I put forth the proposition that this has been changing since the advent of "voodoo economics" and the disparity between the wealthy and the poverty stricken has grown exponentially in the last decade. That a tradesman who used to make a decent living say, installing flooring, must now compete in a vastly inflated economic scenario with far cheaper foreign labor with little or no overhead. Getting less work for far less money than 14 years ago.
This does not exclude him or her from becoming successful in business but it's a H*** of a lot harder, and less likely.
This, one might say was simply a reflection of the economic situation, except that at the same time upper management pay rose over 400 %.
I sincerely do hope you are experiencing good financial health, yet the reality is for most middle class people one of severe deterioration. And of late great uncertainty about staying afloat at all.
We have a privileged class, like it or not. The ones who tell the politicians what tax shelters to create for them, the ones who are "too big to allow to fail".
They are a small percentage, and the path taken that benefited this small group over the interests of the vast majority was a primrose path to disaster.
The truth is, America's greatness emanated from it's middle class who drove the economy, once you sell them out who buys your products or instruments or schemes? The Chinese your paying 30 bucks a month? They can't afford them. And if things don't improve, niether will we.
Cheap labor is like the glass beads and liquor Europeans conned the indigenous Americans with.
