> Let us not forget that it was Israel, which in fact created Hamas. According to Zeev Sternell, historian at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, "Israel thought that it was a smart ploy to push the Islamists against the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO)".

I have to agree that the best way to fight two emenies is to make these enemies fight each other.

I DO NOT agree, however, that Israel "created" Hamas. This and all other organizations of Arab terrrorists were created by the Palestinian and other Arabs.

Anybody in their right minds that as the real knowledge of how this mass started finds that statement both repugnant and laughable. Hamas is an outgrowth of a Muslim semi terrorist organization Muslim Brotherhood started in 1928. Israel was not a country at that time. The Muslim Brotherhood was committed to peaceful means except in Palestine and certain other places. The Muslim Brotherhood was not bloodthirsty enough for the group breaking off and creating Hamas in 1987. Then people say that Israel created Hamas. Ignorance abounds.
