more "shock doctrine"
Reply
Everyone should read Klein's "shock doctrine" the elite have it down now. Control the population in particular the poor and middle class through warfare, economic terrorism and right wing brainwashing via the media which of course they own. -

What this scare has done is set the stage for us to accept and support anything the Obama administration wants to do, right or wrong, just as the (very real) terrorism scare of 9/11/01 enabled Bush to make the biggest grab of our rights in the history of the great nation.

Gehl - Huh??? Are you saying that Bush manipulated and created the credit crunch, the housing collapse, the bank closures, the auto industry failures, the retail industry declines, the stock market recession, etc just to set the stage for Obama's royal ascension? Is Bush secretly a Democrat and helping Obama usurp and consolidate political and economic power? Or is Obama secretly a Republican? Or are they both deep, deep moles brainwashed by and sent to us from China or Russia to take over our government?

Man oh man! You, Wolfie, soni, and the author of this article have profound problem with paranoia and lack of realistic thought.-

No! That's not what I intended to say, my apologies for not being clear.

The erosion of our rights was started before Bush, but 9/11 gave Bush/Cheney the public support and excuse to make a historic grab of power and our rights. The economic situation we're in now, pundits and economists saying this could be as bad or worse than the Great Depression, has the same impact. Obama will have most of the nation willing to see him do 'something', just about anything, to pull us out of it, right or wrong. I'm not saying he'll be wrong, God knows I hope he isn't!
However, when it comes to government and politicians, yea, I'm getting a little paranoid. It's been one screwing after another, just because it's a different face, a different party, taking office, I'm not confident there's not another screwing coming.-

Before Bush was when Clinton used active military in Waco, and 'no knock' raids became more common. What part of the Constitution allows law enforcement to come to your home during the night, use a ram to break down your door with weapons drawn, on literally, nothing more than a criminal informants 'tip'? Killing anyone, with the full power and authority given by the 'police', inside that is awakened, terrified, tries to defend their home?

Would you please name just one right that we lost under Bush, I know of NONE!?

if you can not prove any lost rights, then that just proves what you say is just BS propaganda.
The only people who have lost any rights are people who are not US citizens and or people who are being watched by the feds, such as suspected terrorists. If you are not involved with high crimes or terror, then no one is watching you. What Bush has done is make it easier for the feds to find and catch criminals/terrorists. If you have nothing to hide, then what's the problem? If you do have something to hide, well then, could be you're in trouble!-

Settle down 4th chance! I just got here, hope you weren't holding your breath while you were waiting.

How about the well documented Patroit Act?
Wiretapping without a warrant? Without judicial review?
By your own logic:
"If you are not involved with high crimes or terror, then no one is watching you."
How do they know whether I am or not inless they looked? How far did they go to check? Did they pull my phone records? Did they check my e-mail? What if I was an American natural born Muslim, or married one, so had the name of an Arab. In your world, does that make me fair game to be spied on WITHOUT probable cause? -

You are what I call a 'chicken little'. "Do whatever you have to do to protect me, the sky is falling!" The problem is our ancestors died protecting my right to live my life without hearing "Papers, show your papers", for me to be free of unreasonable search and seizure, for me to be able to write a letter, an e-mail, make a phone call without interception from ANYONE, that one is called privacy. Under that one, I should be able to move around my country without face recognition camaras tracking me, that police officers don't come equipped with camars that capture tag numbers of every vehicle they pass.
I AM NOT AN ANIMAL TO BE TRACKED AND HERDED!

No one? I'm not out on a limb by myself.

We are no safer today, than we were on 9/12/01-02-03-04-05-06-08. What we are is more limited, more tracked, and less free. Who has won? OBL, that's who.
Does that mean I want to step up governmental surviellance of our own people? NO!!
Our water supplies, every subway system is wide open for bio weapons, nuke plants can be breached. Wait for the right train carrying hazardous matierals and derail it. Bio weapons in a crop duster airplane, on and on and on........
Am I scared of terrorists? No, not really. That may be due to being thousands of miles away from the majority of the carnage, but it also could be because I refuse to give in, I refuse to live scared and afraid, I refuse to let them win.

So what are WE the people going to do about it? NOTHING because WE have ALL gotten soft and comfortable doing NOTHING.

We have had the same old lying government for eight years and they pulled some good ones on us and now a different bunch of people from the same old status quo government but from the other same old party is going to take power.
If only we could have started out 2009 with a fresh unstained government.-

“When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes. Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.”
Below is especially true of most American sheople:
Niccolo Machiavelli
“For the great majority of mankind are satisfied with appearances as though they were realities, and are often more influenced by the things that seem than by those that are.”
On the next one, think Federal Reserve:
President James Madison
“History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control of governments by controlling money and its issuance.”
Lincoln knew the truth and let the people know that he knew. Unlike our current Presidents (puppets for the money trust):
President Abraham Lincoln
“The money power preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy.”
Now he really knew:
The Rt. Hon. Reginald McKenna – Chancellor of the Exchequer
“I am afraid that the ordinary citizen will not like to be told that the banks can, and do, create money. The amount of money in existence varies only with the action of the banks in increasing and decreasing deposits and bank purchases. Every loan, overdraft, or bank purchase creates a deposit and every repayment of a loan, overdraft or bank sale destroys a deposit. And they who control the credit of a nation direct the policy of governments, and hold in the hollow of their hands the destiny of the people.”
And one last one - He ought to have known; he helped to establish the Federal Reserve (creature from Jekyll Island):
President Woodrow Wilson
“A great Industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world – no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men.
“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country.”
(President regretted signing into law the Federal Reserve Act) -

The beauty of the Great Hoax of 2008, from the perspective of the ruling class, is that is was also a Great Scare, and such scares invariably serve as pretexts for the rulers' most audacious assaults on the peasants' lives, liberties, and purses.

I knew this was a hoax from the beginning as did many others here on Propeller. I mean, President Bush was endorsing the bailout and was even frantic about getting it passed through ASAP! Dead giveaway.
Reply
It is obvious to me that either all of Congress is corrupt or stupid as they agreed to this idiocy!
What gauls me is that I heard more people complain about the Big 3 getting a $25 billion loan from the government than the financial sector/Wall Street getting an unsupervised $700 billion bailout! And, not just on Propeller but also in my conversations outside of Propeller. Insanity! -

"You'd almost have to admire the elite's ability to spook the rest of us into blind, unreasoning panic on such a flimsy basis,..."

Whats really spooky is how many went along with it. Bush, McCain, Obama all pushed for it. Every single one of them. Meanwhile, only a fraction of our representatives sided with the people.
