President-elect Barack Obama took big money from a man at the center of a federal probe that has forced one of Obama's top Cabinet picks to withdraw.
Financial records show the Obama campaign got more than $30,000 from California financier David Rubin, the target of an investigation into donations and possible "pay-to-play" deals involving New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, Obama's pick for commerce secretary.

Hmmm. They invited Rubin to give over $31,000 to Obama even though Democrats knew that Rubin faced a federal probe for bribery? Overall, they took almost $60,000 from Rubin that night, three weeks after the investigation into his connections to Richardson and the municipal-bonds contracts was revealed. And that’s not Rubin’s first dance with the feds, either; he got raided in 2006 by Justice on suspicious business dealings between banks and governments, and for concerns about the high fees CDR charges.
One has to wonder what Rubin thought he was getting with the $57,800 he spent on dinner that night -

The Obama transition team was aware of New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson's relationship with the firm currently being investigated, CDR Financial Products, because Richardson had introduced the firm's founder, David Rubin, to Obama fundraisers during the Democrat convention in Denver last August.
But it isn't just Obama and Richardson that Rubin has ties to.........financial ties to Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, as well as to Democrat state and local officials in Illinois, California, Florida, and Pennsylvania.
.......CDR also had close business ties to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, marketing and selling financial instruments created through low-income housing "lease to own" programs across the country. "If someone wants to understand just how deep Democrats are into the housing bubble and the economic crisis, they should look at some of the financial wheeling and dealing around some of those 'lease to own' programs," says a former Freddie Mac lobbyist based in Washington. After all, they singlehandedly FORCED the population to elect Obama.

While OUR national media is just another arm of the RNC ... to varying degrees ... International media is NOT.
So, while you are licking your lips in anticipation of damage befalling our nation's President ... the international community is laying plans to indict some in the outgoing Bush administration for Crimes Against Humanity ... specifically ... TORTURE.
I was listening to an interview today with a British Legal Scholar who was involved in the Augusto Pinochet legal proceedings and it was his assessment that the international community may have NO ALTERNATIVE but to arrest and detain a variety of Bush pals should they venture outside the US.
Certainly not Cheney ... he's too high up the list.
But one name that kept coming up was David Addiingham ... among others.

Richardson is now out of the picture as he stepped down. Now if he had hid the association that put him into the headlights of the media and also if Obama had continued to put him into the team...then I would perceive a problem. Neither of these happened. In previous administrations I don't believe went into the selection process as deep as the Obama administration has. We have witnessed this by some of the incidents that have surfaced over the last several years.
