Question - How Do You Say “Hello” on the phone in Japanese? It is not “konnichi wa” - ??? . That is the equivalent of ‘good day’ or saying ‘hello’ to someone in person.

        or usero..get out of my sight
        or kutabare..*#$@$ you...drop dead..shove it
        cant believe this is on the front page
        moshimoshi is literally an apology
        because they dont know who is calling
        and they may use an improper level of politeness
        so you apologize in advance
        because it could be someone you should be subordinate to
        and this isnt just for courtesy or social correctness
        but the actual form of the verbs used would be different
        this is why phone use in japan is very muzukashi for gaijin
        gaijin..foreigner
        muzukashi..its difficult..i'll see what i can do for you
        muzukashi..actually..you have a better chance of the pope helping you out with this
        this is why they say that ninhongo is a vague elusive language
        lots of contextural meaning
