    normally,
You're right, I can't see it helping anyone, actually. It said 'up to 500', and if it's "delivered" by way of your weekly paycheck, that's 500 divided by 52 weeks, an extra $9.70 a week. Less than 10 bucks. Assuming you have a job!

Seeing as how the US Government gives Israel the equivalent of $500 for each and every single Israeli, don't you think it's time that Americans saw some of their own tax dollars?

I'd rather he used the 300 billion to help create jobs. $10 bucks a week for those with a job, and/or a $500 refund for those that don't work for whatever reason, is not going to do much for the vast majority of us. It would go a long way to fund some infratructure projects.

so are you advocating tax cuts for the unemployed, or are you saying because of the current financial fiasco caused by the current administration there are so many unemployed people who cant survive without tax cuts

I'm saying no tax cuts, for anyone, right now. Later after the job losses are curtailed, and more of us are making some money.

you dont want the dems to issue tax cuts - that way you can stick to your talking points that only republicans give tax cuts

From your response I don't think you've seen many of my comments. I don't defend the republican party, or the democrats. I bash both of them.
Do you honestly think $10 a week will make a difference? $40 a month won't even pay a water bill, much less a mortgage.

Then it really makes no sense. I agree with Beavith, but my point is the same.

Unemployment income is taxable income. I don't remember in what year or what government agency made the decision to include unemployment income in taxable income but government is getting ready to include medical benefits in that category. Company provided life insurance premiums, under certain conditions, are already considered taxable income.

I agree in principle, "tax cuts for the unemployed are an oxymoron" but I don't believe any "benefit" received from government entities paid for by taxable income should be taxed again..
