We need to have more legislators on our side and fight back at the conservatives who deny the abilities of gays and lesbians to be members of families of our own. Numerous studies have shown repeatedly that gays and lesbians are just as good at parenting as their heterosexual counterparts. Denying gays and lesbians the ability to adopt is nothing more than discrimination.

Anti gay adoption, which is passed by the morally vacant right wing evangelical base of the corrupt, racist white supremacist republican party, is the absolute pinnacle of evangelical hyprocracy, hatemongering and ignorace.
Reply
Such creationist like ignorance, in the face of massive studies, statisitcal analysis over decades proving gays are just as good or better parents than the ususal multi divorced swine evangelical base, is complete insanity.
Welcome to the dark ages of america the stupid.
Remember Terry Shivo? That was the end of the repugnicon party. But they just keep trying, equating their false god and racist hatemongering with americana and their immoral white minority.
Welcome to america, the trailer park. Sponsered by walmart.

There is absolutely no sane reason on the face of this earth why Gay men and Lesbians cannot be as good and loving parents as their heterosexual counterparts. In fact, in some cases, they may and prove to be much better parents because they recognize the struggles they have endured as a child themselves because they were different, and could be more accepting and supportive of a foster or adopted child who may also have issues with their sexual identity. Too, I believe Gay men and Lesbians on the whole are a lot better educated, have chosen careers in fields that pay higher wages therefore providing a better quality of life for the adopted or forster child.

Endo, single parents, homosexual parents, single parents, widowed parents, ALL can and do provide both male and female role models, just about everyone has teachers, religious leaders, coaches, family, friends, the list goes on.....why would you need a male and female in the household every day? to see what?????? What about all the spouses that are away in the military???
Reply
If Homosexuals are good enough to foster, and they are! they sure as hell are good enough to adopt. -

Tell me Endo. How many unwanted children have you adopted? Judging from your statement you'd rather see unwanted and abandoned children spend their lives in an institution rather than being raised by a loving Gay couple. Is this true?

"Well I will have to get very active and kill this insanity. That is what it is."
Reply
--So what you're saying then is that, for example, we shouldn't have careers that involve putting one or both parents in constant jeopardy (like our miltary and law enforcement) because when one or both of a child's parents dies, his or her life is doomed, Right, Endo? ;-P -

A baby needs a father and a mother to be raised with the best chances in life. They need both role models.>>>>>
Reply
lol, a baby doesn't care one way or the other. He/she just wants to be loved and nurtured. Lots of people are raised by one parent, and turn out just fine. Your argument is silly.

Denying gays the right to adopt represents primitive ignorance/moral obtuseness of the most egregious sort.
Reply
Arguments that a dual-gender union is best for children are uselessly hypothetical: what all kids need is love and protection, whatever their source.
The issue of "role models" presupposes that male and female parents each represent a gender exemplar--and thus hold the key to successful gender or life adaptation for their offspring.
But the world is less than perfect and bad or even mediocre parents of both sexes abound. What counts is that parents parent, whatever their gender. -

The big deal, Newpeson, is, unfortunately, that some people are mired in superstitious belief and/or dangerous ignorance that prompt a narrow, draconian worldview.
Reply
This bigoted, totalitarian position insists that people love in one way only--and would have children go parentless rather than allowing them loving homes if the parents in question aren't male and female.
Heartbreaking and dangerously antisocial. -

If we stop gays from adopting.. I also believe that people should not be able to adopt from different races.. after all how can one relate to the "experience"......

If we are going to go back to the 17th century... let's go all the way...

Sad to see that at a time when the economy is going downhill, we are wasting so many resources creating and then fighting these ridiculously discriminatory laws.
Reply
The government has no constitutional right to prevent homosexuals from being able to join together in secular civil unions or adopt children because of anti-gay religious sentiment.
The sooner society accepts that, the better off we'll be...maybe then, the people who are so rabid about getting discrimination measures on ballots can focus their time and energies on productive changes, such as ensuring that all children have access to proper health care. -

Maybe it is because Florida did their research:
Reply
In “The Gay Report,” prepared by two gay researchers, 73 percent of homosexuals surveyed reported having had sex with boys, aged 16 to 19, and in some cases younger.
· According to a study by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 81 percent of priestly sex-abuse victims were boys and adolescent males. In coverage of the scandal, the media resolutely ignored this reality by referring to the perps as “pedophile priests,” instead of homosexual pedophile priests.
· Male homosexuals represent roughly 2.5 percent of the population, yet account for over one-third of adults who prey sexually on children. In other words, a gay male is 13 times as likely to be a sexual predator as a heterosexual male.-

it shouldnt be called homosexuality,, it actually is heterophobia. homosexual behavior is just that, behavior. an unwillingness to acclimate to the natural progressions of life. its a mental problem,,just because people seem too afraid to tell the truth doesnt change a thing. gays shouldnt be allowed to adopt, foster or for that matter babysit children

The Gay Report was widely debunked years ago:

"73 percent of homosexuals surveyed reported having had sex with boys, aged 16 to 19, and in some cases younger." What does THAT mean? I had sex with an 18-year-old girl (of course I was also 18 at the time...).
Yes most of the clergy pedophilia was homosexual )perhaps because girls are not afforded the honor of being altar boy), but MOST pedophilia in the general population is heterosexual.
"Male homosexuals represent roughly 2.5 percent of the population, yet account for over one-third of adults who prey sexually on children. In other words, a gay male is 13 times as likely to be a sexual predator as a heterosexual male."
I'd like to see your source data on that one. -

As a father, I kiss and hug my little boy as much as I do my little girl. My father, who took care of us kids by himself, gave us all the love we needed. One man, one woman, two men, two women, it doesn't really matter. All you need is love.

We need to think of what is right for the morals of children.
Reply
Gay people should never be allowed to adopt.
They are sexual perverts that do immoral things to one another.
To put children in a home that has those perversions going on is wrong.
If you want to get slammed in the rear then at least keep the kids away from your sexual deviate perversions.-

Same-sex couples are no more likely to subject their children to meth-fueled orgies than straight couples. Same-sex couples are loving parents just the same as straight parents.
Reply
'Immorality' and 'perversion' is your own personal repugnance to same-sex love.
I grew up in a single parent home, right next to a dual-parent 'straight' home. The result? My sister and I are doing just fine, I have two wonderful kids of my own. Two out of the four kids in my neighbor's home are in jail.
I have been a guest in the house of a same-sex couple and their two children. The kids are wonderfully articulate, gracious, and wholly individual.
To be clear, homosexuality IS a 'deviation', but not in the pejorative sense any more than a foot fetish.
The more you indulge in your hatred, the more pathetic you will become. -

See my post above, automanonman. The average filthy homophobic troll always seems to be obsessed with getting "slammed in the rear"-- never action between women.--why is that, auto? I guess you feel more comfortable talking about your area of expertise, huh? It's cool. Just come out. It's 2009. America is getting more and more progressive and accepting each day. ;-)

This argument is not about children, it's not even about marriage, it's about legitimizing homosexuality.
Reply
There will always be a faction of American culture that has a religious bent against same-sex couples, and it has nothing at all to do with Jesus.
For all the Christian posturing about universal love, they simply can't get past their personal repugnance of the physical act. Period. The use scripture as a means to hate.
In my mind, there is nothing more anti-Jesus than hate.
