Yep. Those Israelis, though. They're angels!

"The U.N. and the Red Cross curtailed aid shipments in the Gaza Strip on Thursday after accusing Israeli forces of firing on their drivers, killing one."
"Many of the dead found Thursday were in Gaza City's Zeitoun neighborhood, where the international Red Cross said it found four small children alive next to their mothers' bodies in the rubble of a home hit by Israeli shelling. The aid group says a total of 15 dead were recovered from two houses in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City on Wednesday.
A Red Cross spokesman says rescuers had been refused permission by Israeli forces to reach the site for four days. It said the delay in allowing rescue services access was "unacceptable."" -

Obama deplores civilian deaths (article a few days ago). Will he deplore Hamas tactics? I wonder where the guy stands really. He can't afford to alienate the Hollywood Jewish community but he has promised to downgrade our relationship with Isreal.

Judaism is built on race worship. Any Rabbi will tell you that's a misinterpetation but out on the street the Jewish attitude of superiority is apparent. That's dispicable and so is the notion of a Nation with two layers of citizenship decided by birth right.

What about the other side? Islam is built on institutionalized sexism and violence. It is easily the most confrontational and narrow-minded major religion extant.
Christianity, with all its past abuses, is on its best behavior world wide. Its hold in Europ and US is tenuous.
Where Jews live inside secular societies they traditionally become model (if a bit arrogant) citizens. Where Muzlims live in secular societies they congregate in angry groups and plot for the destruction of the cultures that host them. (not universally but significantly) I have to come down on the side of Israel in the long run. And if there are complaints about how Israel wages war let's put the list of horrors sponsored by Islam right up front.-

I would agree with everything but maybe the last point you make. I could take sides with Israel as you do except I do not think they have a right to occupy Palestine. It should not be a contest of who will put the land to best use.

Israel like to cite UN resolutions as proof of their right to exist. But those resolution do not give them the right to expel the indiginious population. So they should honor the UN if they want to use the UN as proof of their right to exist. Let the Palestinians return home and learn to live with them.

I agree that it's a terrible tragedy if any civilians are killed or injured, but there's something fishy about the children found next to their mothers' bodies. I read that the mothers and other adults' bodies were all in beds in a house. I find it highly unlikely that either an attack happened to kill all of the adults while they were in bed but left the children alive, or that all adults happened to be mortally wounded by an attack that left the children alive and then all stumbled to beds and died. It is horrible when there are any civilian tragedies, but this case makes it sound like the adults were possibly placed in beds and being cared for, and then their caretakers left, and left the children behind purposely even though they were alive.

HAMAS is being resupplied from Egypt in those three hour cease fire spans, these militants have no regard for mosques and hospitals they are animals and peaceful Palestinians need to realize that these are not muslim brothers but fanatical militants that are using them for cover and propaganda ,israel will destroy gaza in the long run and Palestinians need to leave that part of the country!

I had sort of decided in the last few days that I would not post or prop stories from either Isrealigirl or HYperbola, but would continue to read the stories and comments on thier posts. As I was reading the comments on this story the CTV news reported about the IDF moving 100 people into a house for thier safety and then the next day bombing the house and killing 30 people. It also appears that the US might be trying to wash its hands with this conflict, in the last vote in the UN the US. abstained from voting and the resolution passed in regards to a ceasefire. It seems that after the resolution passed the IDF has increased its strikes against Gaza since it feels time is running out as far as public support goes.

MY final though on this is if world support causes Israel to stop its assault on Gaza before it reaches its goal does that mean that all these deaths were merely as Hyper would say an action of ethnic cleansing.-

Do the Jews of Israel want to exterminate the Palestinians just to be mean? Do the Palestinians want to do the same to the Jews? Who really bombed that house? Is Hamas capable of killing its own for a public relations victory? Are Hamas aims the same as those of the Palestinians? Whose side is the UN on? Are the Europeans being held hostage by violent intercity minorities? Who gains if Israel ceases to exist and what is gained? Who paid for the rockets that are stockpiled in, and are being fired from Gaza--Certainly not the Palestinians who live there, not monetarily anyway? What are the implications for the non-Islamic west when Israel falls and the pogrom begins?
