I would hope that Windows 7 is better than Windows Vista 64 bit OS. I've had more lockups, freezes, or what ever term is used than with any system I've ever used. It seems that the problem is with incompatibility with 32 bit programs that may not be designed for duel core processors. Just a guess with my situation.

I suspect my problems were caused by FireFox on this 64 bit Vista.

This computer is less than a month old when it crashed and wouldn't boot. I tried to load XP and/or Vista from a disk to retrieve my data but could not do it. XP would not go past the loading files stage and Vista stopped about midway into the install process. Ended up doing a complete restore and trying some undelete programs I had but didn't have any success. Moral of this story is I'm stuck with Vista unless I wipe out the drive completely with partition software and it doesn't even want to work.
