      We have a word in English too "deplorable".There are plenty of near beers out there why create another.

        The article doesn't touch on a beer-substitute beverage known as "hapyoshu" which is marketed in exactly the same way as beer, looks like beer, tastes like beer and has similar alcohol content. It uses no hops and is thereby exempted from a government tax and is thus much cheaper than "beer". Damn clever.
