    the US secondary copper industry was snuffed out by economics and the EPA. maybe not in that order. as an environmental engineer, i know that its a tough process, but it integrates well with the existing copper and metals markets.
    that was the way to process all recycled electronics. without some industrial scale mechanism like secondary copper processing, we're just kidding ourselves. plasma torches? wildly expensive. acid dissolution? there isn't enough acid in the world.
