At the very least it should be an option. Why can't protective orders be exactly as they imply. Protect the victim through the entire process. Mandatory escort to and from the court house.

We put more effort in apprehending someone who has stole something from 7-11. Armed Robbery carries mandatory sentences. If someone knows that when they beat up their spouse they are going to get 7 or 8 years would that not possibly be a deterent?

I have personally seen women call the police, the man is picked up and out of jail before the victim can get home and collect her clothes. No bail if there is sufficent evidence to show you beat the hell out of your spouse.

Wy can't the abuser be tagged and watched if he is out on bail? At least the police will know where he is and what he might be up to.

In Veronica's case the scum bucket was seen going into his house which tells me he was freely moving around without any fear of the police.

I believe since domestic abuse has gone on for centuries there is a certain amount of laissez-faire attitude when it comes to spousal abuse.

If someone walks into city hall and pops an official in the face I can guarantee you they will not be getting out on bail right away and I can also gurantee you every effort will be made to apprehend them.

Sending some officers to aprrehend another man is like sending the fox in the hen house and telling him to keep an eye on those chickens.

I have seen cases were the cops try and talk to a man and say something like okay lets go cool off. Of course after the Simpson trial the system started taking things a bit more serious.

Veronica Williams should be alive today, if we had a system that mandatory sentencing and counseling, immediately upon filing charges women advocates should be stepping in to help out the women who is having one of the worst days of her life and obviously in no frame of mind to think clearly.

If its a man then send in male advocates. The point is have a stong pro victim agenda in place.

Most women are very very afraid and many men just don't get it. Because they are the stronger sex and for the most part do not have to worry about the hell being knocked out of them in their own homes..with the exception of a small percentage who might get way laid with the first lick (grits-frying pan) technique.

Anyway I just feel the system failed her. Her husband should have had a back ground check done before the community propped him up in the role of some violence advocate, safe community crap. Here is a guy advocating for a safe community and his own home is not safe for his wife.

I saw where some comments from the community were..oh we are praying for him and hope he will be back one day.
