Posted By ameliog 10 months ago in Political NewsThe incoming Obama administration should launch a criminal investigation of Bush administration officials to see whether they broke the law in the name of national security, a House Democratic report said Tuesday. President-elect Barack Obama has been more cautious on the issue and has not endorsed such a recommendation.

IF our nation is ever to leave behind the

Dark Ages of the Bush era, it will require action not just words of condemnation. If we value the international law as a nation, the civil right of all human beings, the right to fair trials, habeas corpus, the right to live without the fear of unwarranted wiretaps, secret detentions, political imprisonment, exploitation of our children for wars of "luxury" that only benefit the corporate moguls who profit from them, we will have to bring these men before the courts.
Too many people in this world and in this country know that our government has abused its power and our tax money to wage war, to kill innocent Americans and Iraqis because it was lucrative.
Most people know that we have only increased the burdens of the people from these oil rich nations; the result will be that we have only added more people to the terrorist organizations who want to find revenge. Our government has the blood of terrorist victims all over the world on its hands. The day must come when we must face these crimes or we will become exactly what we condemn.
I am saddened to admit these truths, but they are now self-evident.
The last vestige of hope that we have in this nation is to use the internet to expose those companies, the same companies who own the media and who profit from engaging in endless wars. But without showing that our nation will not tolerate crimes against humanity and will not tolerate an imperial dictator who used the title of the president too loosely, we will stay in the dark ages.

Poor spadecaller is ranting again. He enjoys Bush Bashing as a sport. Lets just find anything hateful about Bush and believe it and get upset and say more hateful things.

Why have the Democrat congress let these evil criminal acts just go by the wayside? Never never say that it is that dread problem of "Lack of Evidence". That can't be the case. After all look at all of the people who have been saying these things. They can't all be wrong can they? Or is spadecaller, ameliog, and others like them all been touched by that lemming problem. Follow the leader to their death and never give up.
Well for all of you ranters just wait. Your turn in the barrel is coming up. All the rants over the tax problem that Mrs. McCain had and libs said SHE WAS RESPONSIBLE. Well look at who is being appointed as Secretary of Treasury. Explain how he did not know those things were not taken out of his pay. How many of you do not know from paycheck to paycheck how much is taken out for all taxes. This does not even pass the stupid test. The coming four years are going to be fun.
Impeach Obama now. Why wait.

As has been posted before, If you can Post what laws that Bush or Cheney have broke then fine charge them but just saying they broke the law does not make them guilty( well in the dems eye it does), i can say people are guilty of alot of different things but that does not prove they are guilty so PLEASE post what Legal laws not oral laws that Bush, or Cheney have broken. That means the link to the offical site that says they broke whatever law you post saying they broke, and for the dems ill make it more clear for u,,, If you say he has killed 100s of 1000s of people whether it be ours or theirs then post a site that states that he killed them you can not just say he sent our troops to Iraq because of a lie, because that wont work thats not proof. is that easy enough to understand ???? probably not but we will see what happens

that's why you have an INVESTIGATION.. then if warranted you have a TRIAL... and at the end of the trial.. you get a VERDICT....

Get over it already. If the Democrites had ANYTHING what so ever to go after Bush with, they would have impeached him already. Dems would love nothing more then to take Bush down, if they could they would have already done it. They have NOTHING but fantasies of taking Bush out. Their still trying to even the score for Clinton being impeached, they will NEVER get over that. Deep HATRED is all they have, well that and Republican derangement syndrome! That's right, you domocrites are DEEPLY DERANGED!

Don't the psuedo-cons want that, but too bad.
Their still trying to even the score for Clinton
And here I thought they went after Clinton to even the score for Nixon? Why else would they investigate a sitting President for 6 long years till they finally got him for something way off base from their original investigation, but I digress. The reason they impeached Clinton the way they did is because they had the numbers. Dems have not had the numbers(or the b*lls I suspect) to hound Bush with investigations like they did Clinton.
By all means let the new Congress start an investigation into all things about the Bush Administration.

I really think Obama needs to spend more time getting out of his own mis-steps than looking to find what laws the Bush administration may have broken. He is backing people for key position's in his administration that have broken known laws.

From the WASHINGTON (AP) - President-elect Barack Obama called disclosures about Treasury choice Timothy Geithner’s tax problems an embarrassment Wednesday but said Geithner’s “innocent mistake” shouldn’t keep him from confirmation as the new administration’s top official in urgent efforts to revive the economy.
We know Timothy Geithner’s broke the law, anyone here try doing the same thing he did and see what happens to you. However Obama calls it an "innocent mistake" even tho he had tax people informing him to do so for the four years that he didn't..
So a question to all Do we really want someone who says he didn't know the tax law running our economy recovery for this country? -

Oh yes, yet another hate Bush story.

I have a question for you people and the media who are inflicted with Republican Derangement Syndrome. What are you going to do with all your spare time now that Bush is going away? Perhaps you can collect unemployment benefits, in fact Obama should set up a special little program just for you Bush Haters who will have nothing to do now. You will surly need some kind of way to release your hatred. I wonder if there's going to be a new type of illness springing up from this, perhaps a type of (Democrat Blue Balls) from not having a constant release valves for your hatred!-

Typical knee-jerk reaction! Or another hate filled rant against anything or anyone that suggests that the Bush administration should be investigated.
Actually it's a story about a report that concludes that Obama "should launch a criminal investigation of Bush administration officials to see whether they broke the law"
"The report covers Bush administration policies that Democrats have protested for some time. Among them: interrogation of foreign detainees, warrantless wiretaps, retribution against critics, manipulation of intelligence and political dismissals of U.S. attorneys." -

Bush EARNED our hatred. The leaders in the Democratic congress simply don't have the BALLS to go after Bush and Cheney. Their transgressions are well documented.
Reply
You say we Bush haters should go away? NEVER! Not until justice is done to the worst excuse for a President and his cronies in the history of this country. We should NEVER forget Bush and what he has done for he has besmearched and soiled the reputation of our once great nation. He is a criminal and must be punished if we are ever to return to any level of respect throughout the rest of the world. Bush ignited the terrorists and gave them more purpose and gravitas than anyone or anything else could ever have done. -

You know instead of going after a guy who is out of office next week, I'd rather like to know where the hearings are for those responsible for the banking crisis and the fiasco we're seeing. Everyone on Capital Hill is calling the latest bunch of pork a stimulus. It's not. It's little more than huge deficits with little real chance of being successful.
Reply
Where are the hearings? We saw them after Katrina. We saw them after Scooter-gate. We're seeing them because of college football. But nothing on this current problem. I smell a rat and I suspect he's a bundler for the Democratic party.
