For the first time in its 75-year history, Mumbai's popular Ganesh idol known as Lalbaugcha Raja and its massive marquee have been insured for a whopping Rs.26.5 million (nearly $600,000).

    Probably a good idea. A large number of ancient Buddhas have been stolen in recent years in India due to the poor security and lack of morals.

    The same thing is happening throughout Tibet, as well, with Chinese 'officials' stealing Tibetan treasures (such as 15c Buddha statues) and selling them on the black market.

      Some things are priceless and can never be replaced such as the Giant Buddhas in Afghanistan.

      Shame on people who reject the value of history.
