Did God ever say he wouldn't ever change things?(and I don't mean turn someone gay) or add things? or was it just a one time shot at creation?

So is homosexuality. It's been around for as long as humans have...perhaps even longer in other species.

"Homosexuality is part of our fallen condition."
But then so is heterosexuality.
So there's no theological difference.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 9) (recursion depth : 7) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

If our condition, by nature, is one of a 'fallen condition' then heterosexuals are as 'fallen' as homosexuals.
So unless you have theology or scripture to back up YOUR theory, why don't you tuck your little wee wee back in your pants.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 11) (recursion depth : 9) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

Sorry, Locky. Non-believers in your form of Christianity don't accept the concept of "original sin." You're entitled to your opinion, but it's much more logical to assume that either the behavior of humans was created by God along with everything else or nothing was.
If it was created by God, then he is to blame for our condition. If it wasn't, then he's irrelevant to our behavioral predilections.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 9) (recursion depth : 7) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

"God doesn't "get with the times"."
Um, yeah He does. Well, at least the church does, which is why several denominations supported the women's suffrage movement, the ending of slavery, and the civil rights movement. Some sects even allow women to become ministers. Imagine that!(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 7) (recursion depth : 5) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

"Women are not allowed to become priests because the Church is the bride and the priest is the groom."
Women were priests in home churches.
Women aren't allowed to be priests because the patriarchy took over the church and asserted "the church is the Bride.. et cetera" as DOGMA because it served their purposes.
If Peter is the Church (The Rock, petros petra), then the Church is certainly not a bride, is it?
"The Catholic Church has nothing against the civil rights movement and the ending of slavery."
True enough. But the same anti-homosexual 'scripture' oft quoted comes from the same areas as a lot of the pro-slavery scripture.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 9) (recursion depth : 7) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

Were any men? Jesus said: "Do this in memory of me." And no matter how many times I've had the "transubstantiated Eucharist. It still TASTES like bread and wine to me. If it were really a transformative miracle, wouldn't it taste like flesh and blood?
I mean, I'm fairly sure when Jesus transformed the water into wine at the feast at Canaa, it didn't still taste like water.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 11) (recursion depth : 9) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

I'm no Catholic, but I've always wondered...and I'm serious about this:
If the bread and wine are actually turned into the body and blood of Christ (I've been told by Catholics that it's not simply a symbol, as it is in other churches), then aren't Catholics guilty of cannibalism when they take communion? How do Catholics handle this question?(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 12) (recursion depth : 10) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

By not considering cannibalism a sin, at least when there's consent. I personally think that cannibalism of the naturally deceased is a perfectly moral thing to do. There's a lot of nutrients left in the body, and if we don't eat it, the worms will. The whole "sacred vessel" thing is supposed to end at death anyway, so what's the issue?
Now when you start killing people to eat them, that's where cannibalism becomes wrong, IMO.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 13) (recursion depth : 11) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

Oh, I don't know about the Church, though I've never heard it mentioned.
But how could they? It's part of their weekly rituals.
I'm just saying that I, as a Catholic, handle the possible cannibalistic ritual of the Eucharist by not having an illogical aversion to cannibalism of the naturally deceased. I can remember watching the movie 'Alive!' and a lot of people disgusted by them eating their dead compatriot. But he was dead, and it was a matter of survival. I never really understood what was so disgusting about it. Maybe that reaction was developed by years of sanctified cannibalism through the Eucharist; I couldn't say for sure.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 15) (recursion depth : 13) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

I guess not. Or rather, practicing Catholics can't truly claim to be vegetarians without denouncing at least part of their faith.
I should tell my sister-in-law.
The explanation of that diet would be quite interesting to hear:
"I'm a vegetarian, except on Sundays when I eat the Body and drink the Blood of my Lord Jesus."(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 17) (recursion depth : 15) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

"The most worthy woman to have ever lived: The Blessed Mother was never given the power of transubstantiation by her Son. "
Just out of curiousity..
Who was the first person to see the Christ after his ressurection?
Oh. Then you can tell me where Jesus gave ANYONE the power of transubstantiation. Or even where transubstantiation is mentioned in the Bible. Talking about the last supper and then layering Catholic dogma on top doesn't really count ;)(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 11) (recursion depth : 9) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

Well that depends on what Gospel you read as each Gospel is different;, 3 Mary enters the tomb with different entities,,,,and the 4th she doesn't even enter the tomb(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 12) (recursion depth : 10) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

The old testament--part of your Bible--is older than the Catholic Church.
So Locky:
If the Bible is not the Church and the Church is not the Bible, I have to ask you:
Which do you believe in? Which is the ultimate authority for you?(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 13) (recursion depth : 11) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

"The Pope is infallible...until a subsequent Pope overrules him."
The 'infallible pope' is often misunderstood. T
Here's a decent Catholic take on it:

I don't know which God you're talking about, but it's definitely not God of the Bible.
As a matter of fact sermon on the mount is full of God "getting with the times". Even getting ahead of the times.
How many times does Jesus say "You've heard [this], but I tell you [that]" in reference to previous scripture?(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 7) (recursion depth : 5) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

God created man in his image, and then designed women from some porn he was watching, he got that right let me tell you, billions of bambinos are proof of that.
God created gay men in his image, because apparently big G is just a little bit bisexual, nothing wrong with smoking the bone up there in the heavens dude.
If god was a female invisible floating charleton heston head in the sky, then god doing all the above....god must be a female monty python cast member, cause only the english can think up something that silly, oh wait, the jews. God is a gay jew female, and has a wicked dark sense of humor. The planet earth, is manifiest from a joke the gay jew female god threw out as not so funny in her comedy routine.
The planet earth is a bad joke from a dyke jew god.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 4) (recursion depth : 2) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply
