Today there are many voices telling us that we should take care of the environment, but humanity is doing more damage to the environment than ever. We are filling up our air, land, rivers and oceans with a never ending onslaught of toxins, chemicals, carcinogens, pharmaceutical drugs, plastics and human waste.

I wish I could forget the Christian radio broadcast in the late 1970's where the commenter was ranting, "Environmentalist is just another name for Communist and Communist is just another name for Satanist!!"

And this was in response to the then radical idea of collecting and separating your recyclables.

This has tainted my view on the hyper-religious and the environment.

I have been trying to overcome my somewhat biased feelings on the matter. (But the Bush years of environmental protection laws' destruction, supported in whole by the Fundamentalist Christians, has made it very tough...)

I have actually read posts from Christians on Propeller claiming God giving man dominion over the Earth means we can do whatever the heII we want with it.

From the title of that website, I guess they want man to destroy the world so that they can go to heaven. But if I am not mistaken, if man destroys the world, it wouldn't be the rapture. It's up to God to destroy the world and cause the rapture. If man destroys it, it's suicide and then you wouldn't go to heaven anyway according to the bible.
