Is This the White House or Delta House? »
Posted By pc25 9 months, 3 weeks ago in NewsIncoming White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel gestures prior to the inauguration ceremony of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States, You would think that Barack Obama's Chief of Staff would know better, but apparently not. With the eyes of the world focused on the inauguration of the President of the United States this is not the kind of "Kodak moment" President Obama would want to have associated with his administration. If a picture speaks a thousand words, then this one is a novel.

I'm just glad we are finally done with the House of the Rising Sun .... or should I say ... Son?
Reply
BTW ... "The House of the Rising Sun" tells the story of a Life Gone Wrong in New Orleans.
Oddly Appropriate for the George H. W. Bush's son of ill repute.

Here's the lyrics to "The House of the Rising Sun" ... (as belonging to GW)
Reply
There is a house in DC
They call the Rising Sun
It's been the ruin of little Georgie-boy
Thank God, I know, he's done.
His mother was a Barbara
She wept a thousand tears
His father was so much better
Way down in D of C
Now the only thing GW sees
Is his craaazie Ideollogie
The only time he's been done satisfied
Was when he was a drunk
------ organ solo ------
So mother tell your children
Not to become Re - pub - Li - kan
You'll spend your lives in Moral Vacancy
In the House of the Rising Sun
Now GW's done left DC town
Tail between his legs
He's goin' back to Texas
To live his histry down
WELLLLL , there is a house in DC
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of certain poor boys
None more than George Senior's son.

Isn't this song appropriate for all the Bushbots, neocons, and religious righties that where gaga over Bush and thought he could do no wrong? mmmmm just food for thought. Now that Obama is in power, we're accused of being excited.

I know Emanuel probably picked up some childish immature behavior while he was a senior advisor to Clinton at the White House but you think he would have outgrown it by now

Looks like parsing words is going to be important with the new administration
Anyone else notice that they are now talking about removing all "combat troops" from Iraq in 16 months?
Now which intrepid member of the press is going to ask how they define "combat troops"? And exactly what is the difference between "combat troops" and ????? other troops?-

I like when Right Wing Extremists call American Soldiers "Phoney Soldiers" ... like Rush Limbaugh ... the Right Wing's Minister of Crazy Propaganda did.
Reply
It was fun to watch my fellow Christian Conservatives defend him ... parsing what he REALLY meant to say.
Of course, Patriotic Americans understood exactly what he meant ... He was simply voicing out loud what the Modern Republican believes .... that only Soldiers and Veterans who share an Extremist Right Wing Ideology are TRUE Soldiers.
As a Centrist ... I see Modern Republicans do that a lot ... so it wasn't a surprise to me. But I think a lot more Americans became aware of just how "Ideologically-Centric" the Modern Right has become.
The only regret these Americans have, apparently .... is that George W. Bush didn't causeENOUGH to damage our nation.

Do you really imagine that any member of the Press Corps - apart from the Knitting Columnist for Redneck Magazine would really have to ask that question?
Better get back to class and complete your education.

PC25 and Goopy neither of you have any interest in the US. Your interest is spreading your negative views. You are both players of a game that has ruined America.

Have You ever been in the White house? I have with one of the cheifs for security since Kennedy. Your ignorance brings you to these articles. The president and his people working for him are people just like you and me. They are not Gods. Jimmy Carter was the first to not allow visits in certian places of the white house because he said and correctly "this is his home." I would love to see photos from parties at your house.
You are both a product of negativety. From what I see neither of you have anything to offer to OUR country except he said this so I will say or post that. Maybe this is good for your ego. But it is worth nothing to OUR country.
I am building a group to fight against what you represent. A end to the 2 party divide and corruption. I will though support OUR new president in everything he does good for OUR land.
A word of advise. Start posting positive things for OUR land. WE need it.
Oh by the way, neg. me if you want it does not matter, There are more important issues for America as both of your personal issues.-

Ron Emanuel actions at the inauguration of the FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES quite frankly are inexcusable. As White Chief of Staff he is the most visible of Obama's appointments and should set the tone for behavior at such a function. He is a leader and should act as one. This is not Delta House and his lack of understanding that on such a day every gesture of his would be scrutinized and monitored not only by our press but the international press. He certainly set some example didn't he? That he did not understand that is unbelievable. So you can take your high and mighty attitude and take a hike and spare us the lecture because you know not of what you speak.

I have to agree with djn3. Although I am NOT a President Obama supporter, he is our President and deserves the respect and the proper amount of time to leave his good or bad mark/s. Respect........ something this Country is longing for as we say bye to President Bush. Thank you for your service to these United States 'W'. We remain safe and free. Let's see how it goes from there with a positive outlook...... for the good of all.

President Obama should be respected by his staff first and foremost and Emanuel's actions show a lack of respect for Obama, the office of President, the country, the inauguration and most of all himself and the position in life that he has achieved.

I love it when politicians of any party act their mental age and get caught at it.
By the way, did Fiend-Steen really say... "oaf of office"?
If so, what a priceless slip of the tongue; Freud would just love this bunch.-

A subconscious Freudian slip.......on top of it all you would think that on a truly historic day they would manage get through the inauguration ceremony without any flubs, starting with Feinstein, then Obama, and ending up with Justice Roberts. They were probably laughing their behinds off in Europe.

I'm so glad that Obama restated his oath so we won't have the usual rant that it was done incorrectly and he's not our true president.
Reply
We lost the election, it's time to watch and see what he does. Call him on the things we thinks he is wrong on BUT also praise him for the GOOD he does as well.
Emmanuel is just as much a war monger as Rummy was, it will be interesting how the left views him over time.

Perception.
Reply
Just like sending men and women off to war. It's the perception in one's mind whether the sacrifice of life and treasure is justifiable in one's mind, whether they are ok with one war over the other.
Take Bosnia over Iraq for instance. The same people that were fine with collateral damage in Bosnia because they felt the cause was just, condemn Iraq and or vise versa. -

I can't believe you people are fussing over Obama's slip up during his oath of office when the exiting Pres couldn't put a complete sentence together in 8 years! Please don't "misunderestimate" our new commander in chief, his staff, or the WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

While the story has relatively little significance in the days to come, it has some important reminders to how the Clinton Administration ran their White House. As if we are returning to days where the Presidential office and White House are not being taken seriously.
Reply
Remember the transition from Clinton to Bush? It was not a pretty sight in the White House. Even the "W"s were removed from keyboards.
The transition from Bush to Obama was one of the smoothest ever and has notedly been reported such. -

Good to see that Obama's critics are focussed again on the substantive matters in keeping with their level of intellectual discourse. And he's a secret Muslim too! Ditto heads possess the maturity of children so it's only natural that they give disproportionate attention to school yard issues. People who are feeling jubilant and are compelled to sit for hours through an extended parade of ceremonies and dignities relieve their restlessness with playful gestures directed at someone at a distance or by conversation with others nearby. Run for the hills! My God, what's next? That anyone should fixate upon something so trivial and extrapolate dire meaning or consequences from it, they really need to get out more.

B.O. screwed up but not as badly as you did when you voted for him...if you're actually old enough to vote. Didn't you hear B.O.'s clumsy speech when he issued the Gitmo closing executive order? He can't repeat his name unprompted.

pc, you're absolutely right: Rham thumbing his nose at...whatever he was thumbing his nose at is a total disgrace! Absolutely intolerable! I mean, whatever happened to respect for authority in this great land of ours?

Further, I fervently hope that we all wake up tomorrow and find that the inauguration didn't occur. That Obama's election was a mirage. And that George W. is still the president.
If that idea doesn't cause the blackest despair to every animal, vegetable and mineral, I don't know what might. -

Now Obama's entire staff is going to have to walk around with their hands cuffed, fingers taped, eyes glued to one spot, teeth sewn together, and their feet nailed to the floor just to keep overreactive hyperdramatic nutcases from going into a tizzy about whether or not their body movements are some kind of sign of terrorist activity, or even worse, some kind of personal snub at people they've never met in their lives. What if that man was gesturing to an old friend or someone in his own family? That's now against the Obama Watch Law?

decorum my friend, reverence for the office, and the positions of power they hold. A respect for everyone that came before them and for those who will follow them they are the standard bearers. They are leader and should act as such. However class or more exactly lack of class and dignity is something that will begin to manifest itself more and more during the Obama administration. It was evident during the campaign but you people had blinders on.

Just for the record, I'm documenting all of this nincompoop public chatter just to have a personal history book on how many insane things get said about Obama for those who have the lack of ability to intelligently assess the real news.
Reply
The reason is because this little "nitpicky" stuff is the kind of stuff us regular average everyday non-famous black folk have to live with on a consistent basis.
We can't move around or even stand in a corner talking together without some hyperactive overly-dramatic white person thinking we're conspiring to overturn the plantation and kill all the massas.
Get a friggin grip already.-
