Ferrari this week unveiled a new photovoltaic system on the roof of its engine mechanical machining facility in Maranello, Italy. The flat-roof array is expected to cut Ferrari’s off-the-grid energy consumption by nearly 214,000 kilowatt-hours a year.

    This is funny. This is a way of looking good and being in the forefront of green images. It is not cost effective though. Those cells are fragile and break easily and the cost of just the cells will take over 10 years to get their money back. That does not include the batteries, inverter, and phasing hookup.

    Really nice to see a luxury car company taking a stand for the environment. I hope that more companies follow their lead.

          Hey...just so you all know...we are going to run out of Oil eventually.

          Perhaps experimentation into an alternative Energy generation program is not only Wise...but Necessary.

            Please bring back the electric car - it's good to see Ferrari doing something positive but it's not nearly enough, a real change needs to take place.
