Commentator Michelle Malkin said Reich's statements expose "the lie that the Obama administration is actually interested in revitalizing basic infrastructure for the good of the economy."
"No, what Team Obama really wants is to ensure that the least skilled, least qualified workers get jobs based on their chromosomes and pigment," she said.
Malkin cited Reich's own blog, where the Obama adviser wrote of the economic stimulus plan: "I'd suggest that all contracts entered into with stimulus funds require contractors to provide at least 20 percent of jobs to the long-term unemployed and to people with incomes at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level."
This, Malkin wrote, is "spoken like a true-blue wealth redistributor. The 'needs' (read: demands) of politically protected minorities trump the need for competently build roads and bridges."

The term “affirmative action” is also used to apply to many other things including its most extreme form, quotas. The use of quotas means that a certain percentage of all new hires must be a member of some group, no matter how unqualified. Quotas were sometimes ordered by courts in the 1970's and 80's to force uncooperative institutions in integrate. However, outside of such court orders, quotas are usually considered illegal discrimination.

Shh.. no one likes to talk about the past, or the present circumstances of a people who were oppressed in the public eye until 50 years ago.. and who remain oppressed today. Most white males like to pretend that history extends back two years. At most.

I think recent history would show blacks have been doing a pretty good job f-ing themselves over.
Always easier to blame someone else for the situation your in instead of looking at what you did to put yourself where you are at.

The construction industry is the first hit, and the last to recover in a downturn. The smaller sub contractors are losing everything, including their personal homes, and MANY of those are not white.
