in America you run your car into a building and you get put on trial for aggravated assault.

In Afghanistan you are held in a detention camp and tortured for 7 years.

    Funny how I have never heard a parent of a newborn refer to their kid as ten month old, although I am aware there are cultures that do. Of course there are also cultures that don't think you're a person until puberty.
    
    It comes down to belief. When is a person a person? A fetus IS alive, but so are sperm and eggs, so are chimps, so are dogs, so is corn, so are fat cells. It would seem to me that life itself is not enough to define what a person is.

        Yes I can tell the difference between an ear of corn and a human life, I can even tell the difference between a fetus and baby. Can you?

        That "one exception" is the key element of the definiton of a fetus. A fetus is a developing baby but it is not a baby until birth. Calling fetuses babies is just something so called pro-lifers do to stoke emotions on an emotional issue.
        
        The fetus, as a developing baby is more like a baby towards the end of it's development just as it's more like a blob of cells at the beginning stages of being a fetus.
