But to be honest I feel it is going to get really bad economically before it gets better, I don't think people realize how hard it is going to be with 10% unemployment, all the small business going out of business and all the corporations losing money, this is a serious mess that bail outs can't fixx.-

I agree again Girlfriend, i don't think there's enough money to replace what Bush borrowed and spent in the middle east, on top of what he and Cheney pocketed.

You know, it almost looks like Bush deliberately left this country in the mess he did. I mean, when you think about it, his whole presidency seems to have been about revenge for Daddy. Saddam because of Daddy's old vendetta, and America because Daddy lost to Clinton.. I know it sounds like another conspiracy theory, but i have been feeling this way for a long time. All of his actions were so deliberate and calculated, it reeks of revenge. -

Eagle_Eye: You're right it has to get bad economically. The only cure for recession is recession itself. Recession is a natural and neccessary part of capitalism where the economy purges itself of wasteful, inefficient, poorly managed companies. The companies left afloat, will be the ones that are geared for success in the modern economic workforce. The same is true of the workforce. Our economy needs an overhaul and recession is the only way that will happen. Bush tried to use the Government to save the economy and that proved disastrous, and it looks like Obama wants to follow the same failed course. When will we learn?

Bush actually used the economy to enrich his and Cheney's cronies.
THAT worked fine.
He NEVER intended to help the American people.
What do YOU suggest other than allowing recession to lead to disastrous depression and utter collapse?
The Neocons on propeller and elsewhwere are salivating over the prospect of rampant poverty, looting and martial law.
We need some better ideas than that. -

But I'm not condemning Obama's.
Bush screwed up the stimulus idea and now Obama is not allowed to try it?
Seems like another set-up to me.
Obviously we nee full accountability and jailtime for bank CEO's and presidents that use any money given on themselves.

I think Americans are very resourceful, resilient, and cooperative when they are treated with respect and told the truth about the challenges we face--economically and otherwise. I think Bush and the GOP did Americans and themselves a great disservice by downplaying the warning signs of practically up until the moment Bush was begging for money to rescue Wall Street. That showed extremely poor judgement, in my view.

Yes n2n. We have a great Treasury Secretary. Just a little problem paying taxes. He signed papers from his employer telling him he had to pay. His accountants told him he had to pay. Halfway through the time this occurred he was audited by the IRS and they told him he had to pay. He just ignored all of them. What a guy. Everybody should follow his lead after all he is now going to be over the IRS.
