    And I have to wonder...what purpose does he think these interviews will serve? They're certainly not going to affect the State Senate's view of him, and they'll have no effect on evidence that will be brought by the U.S. attorney in the criminal trial in several months.

  It's not a witch hunt. While he may have been pre-empted from breaking the law in the case of selling Obama's Senate seat, the feds have him dead to rights about other "pay to play" schemes. (It's just that the Senate thing gets the national headlines.)
  
  There has been much written in the local press that debunks Blagojevich's claims about his being railroaded. One of the better ones was written by a long-time observer of Illinois politics and a well-respected journalist, Carol Marin, and appeared a few days ago in the Chicago Sun-Times:

    When all Democrats called for Blago's impeachment and the Republicans couldn't smear the entire Democratic Party with Blago's craziness (see 4thchance's belated attempt below) now many are going with the ridiculous "witch hunt" hysteria, apparently to besmirch those same Democrats for NOT defending him.
    
    What the Hell is wrong with the Republicans? This madness of theirs is NOT winning them any votes.

As a resident of the great state of Illinois, I feel the need to set the record straight about Governor Blajo...him.

I understand that he is rightfully under public scrutiny, and he is also most likely a raving loon.

But your comments about his hair are completely uncalled for.
