And today, the questions are questions for Barack Obama, the latest in a long and despicable line of men who have served their political ambitions with anti-war promises, and then went on killing so that they could “win the peace.”

So, Mr. Obama, how do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Iraq?

How do you ask a woman to be the last woman to die in Afghanistan?

How do you ask a child to be the last child to die in Pakistan?

How do you ask someone to be the last one to die for a mistake?

hyperbola - "How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Iraq?"

That is a question that should be directed at George Bush. GWB is the man who started the whole tragic mess by leaving Afghanistan when we had the al Qaida and Osama bin Laden on the ropes and running for his life.

I give you credit for at least admitting that the Iraq invasion has been a mistake.

Obama simply wants to put an end to Bush's mistake. If he were to pursue the Iraq war for a hundred years like McCain had stated, then you wouldn't be talking about "the last man", you would be talking about hundreds to thousands of more useless American deaths and many more Iraqi civilian deaths (currently estimated at 600,000). You propose avoiding the death of "the last man" by -- what? Staying longer in Iraq? Or not pursuing OBL at all? Letting him continue the resurgence of al Qaida and plotting more terrorist attacks on the USA?

Every one of these future deaths is not blood on Obama's hands, it is one more useless death that has to be added to Bush's miserable historical legacy. Bush made the mistake. Bush's presidency is a mistake. Obama's has to clean up the humongous piles of dung Bush left behind.

You should blame the elephant for dropping the dung, not the handler who has to clean it up.
