This is an ongoing battle between two women who want what is best for their child. Unfortunately, the birth mother is now convinced that she is no longer a lesbian. Whether she is, or isn't, really is not an issue. The question is which court and which state should hear this case. The Virginia Supreme Court and the courts in Vermont have repeatedly agreed that the matter has to be settled in Vermont. I do not think the birth mother should lose custody, but I do think she needs to honor her commitments and the court order.
