A report from a Chinese daily newspaper indicates that a man has been killed when his cell phone battery exploded, severing an artery in his neck.

      FTA: "The likelihood is the battery was a cheap knock-off."

      Yep, maybe with a Motorola or other brand name stuck on it, like millions you can buy at any mall in the US. The people who sell them don't even know they aren't original.

        Never gave a thought as to where my phone was manufactured so I took it apart and saw that it was made in Korea as was the battery. What are the chances that it'll explode?
