Phelps is still an american hero, even more so now that he is clearly independent in his thinking and beliefs.

An OBVIOUS example that people who smoke marijuana aren't doomed to sit in their parents basement and play video games. It must enrage some people that marijuana won't hold anyone back from winning the most gold medals EVER.
I'm glad he could do what he did, and then show the world how they have been lied to.
