Opt-in is really nice for this. In europe many cell carriers let you find out where someone is just by paying some money. They'll even give you a location, such as a business, restaurant or club where the person might be.

I'm sure they'd have it in the US this way, if the phone companies weren't trying to find a way to totally milk you for it.
