It seems that all things are the same. Obama has served cookies and the Republicans,(or what's left of them) continue their assault on the Democratic Party. I guess it served them well when Clinton was President so they're doing it again.

Thanks for the invite.
Quite honestly I'm already sick and tired of the idiots opposing the needed changes we voted for.
Conservatives??????? What the hell is conservative about destroying a nations economy with a foolish war, a transparent pyramid scheme of housing prices being unjustifiably inflated beyond conservative financial standards, spending billions without taxing those who profited the greatest from it, bailing out the wall street bookies who gambled and lost big time, seek to impose a tax increase upon those losing their homes and future, by increasing sales taxes, property taxes, taxes of any sort that all pay, yet cry out for a tax cut to stimulate for the wealthiest to stimulate the urine they trickle down upon us.
These are not conservatives, these are the greedy thieves who have convinced themselves they are the good people in the world.
Slap them down and lets get on with straightening out our country.
We only have one chance right now to get things going. Screw listening to the bozos who put us in this mess in the first place. I don't care if they get their feelers hurt. They damn sure hurt this nation. Either they get out of the way or get run over.
And for all you loose minded, can't understand it, whine bags out there.
Here it is in plain English. You screwed us badly with the garbage man Bush and his following the Reagan economic catastrophe of supply side economics. Better known as pis* on you economics or voo-doo economics.
You threw in a war that is completely unjustifiable and just to make it alright you claimed he is a Christian. Now enough lies from you !!!!!!!!!
Hush up and take you medicine. It is for the best, because you are obviously feverish and lack common sense at this point. LOL
Thank you for alllowing me to tell it like it is!!!!!!! -

If it's so hilarious, why aren't you laughing? Instead of negging everyone on the thread? If you don't want Democrats to whine about Republicans, then tell them to stop obstructing the Senate. Coming up with their own plans, that is just a continuity of the same financial ideas that got us into this mess in the first place. Cut taxes, trim government! Then everything will be fine! What a load of crap. That's what they've been doing since Reagan. It just doesn't friggin' work! Government isn't bad if it is run correctly. It's only when people get greedy or lobbyist's are allowed to dictate our government policies does things breakdown.

If its so hilarious, then how come you're not laughing? Republicans need to stand down and stop blocking this stimulus bill. They need to stop apologizing to Rush Limbaugh. They need to stop kissing the butt of Joe the Plumber. They need to stop calling Obama the "magic negro", and then electing Steele ( a black man or magic negro as they call it) to head RNC.

There you go making a fool of yourself with the liberal talking points.
1. 85% if this over $1 trillion package will be spent over a year from now and a lot of it is going to be continued programs. Immediate stimulus?
2. Joe the Plumber asked a question and Obama blew it so every liberal ranted at the person asking the question not the one who gave the answer.
3. The reason that Rush is so popular is that he says what the people that listen to him ALREADY believe. But that is hate speech to liberals. You are also saying that the people in Congress can't think for themselves. Typical liberal foolishness.
4. Obama the magic negro is an op ed piece by a negro writer for the LA Times.
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-ehrenste...
The Magic Negro is a figure of postmodern folk culture, coined by snarky 20th century sociologists, to explain a cultural figure who emerged in the wake of Brown vs. Board of Education. "He has no past, he simply appears one day to help the white protagonist," reads the description on Wikipedia.
5. It is OK for the Democrats to elect a half black man as president bu for the Republicans to elect a oratorically gifted conservative black man as Republican chair is bad.
You are spouting such a bunch of liberal garbage. Your hatred just spews out like the story you posted. All through it the concept is Democrats are the nice people and the Republicans are evil and bad. The sad thing is you probably believe that. You probably believe a stimulus package that only spends 15% in the first years is an immediate fix needed by the country as well. Sad proposition that Obama says something and the faithful have to believe it and not the CBO. -

Well, perhaps we--those who are liberals or liberal-leaning--are cursed by the need-for-fairness gene that also (partially) defines our political philosophy.

But even if so, let's tune back the deference-impulse, which can sometimes be confused with fair-play.

Jovial..............I think we can all agree that people are imperfect and subject to flaws, no matter what their intentions are. Governments are comprised of people, the more people you have in government the more likelihood for problems, corruption, and inefficiency. IMO Government should serve only purposes where private companies can't(I.E. military, education, judicial/police, and select others).

Don't let the bas****s get you down. For the most part, they are good at playing their game. The public though, or at least the majority has seen their methods and rejected them. The old school divisive rhetoric only plays to a dwindling minority.
Reply
The most laughable thing was crocodile tears about being "shut out" and claiming Obama was AWOL....we all saw how he bent over backwards to include republicans you silly boys, and he certainly has been more active in communicating not only with the Senate but the House too. Economists of all political stripes agree the scope and size of the stimulus package is right. Out of 648 pages 3 items that are questionable (yeah money promoting the danger of STDs isn't really stimulus...but if that's all you got to whine about that's an easy fix.) are being touted as pork, so cut those 3 items, use the money for more infrastructure instead and pass this asap!
The games fire up the severely retarded in their base, but that base is shrinking. No one else buys this cra*.-

This time it will be different. The internet is now being flooded with angry citizens who see what is going on. The very people who are bashing Obama's efforts are the very ones who gave a green light for GWB to spend our treasure and to take our nation from a surplus to an unprecedented deficit. The VERY people who supported Bush's irresponsible unfair trade, and unregulated banking practices are the phony sycophants complaining the loudest.
Reply
This time the truth will rise above the loud mouths of the greedy Republicans ( and some democrats) who are only too busy ass-kissing their cronies and lobbyists.

Hype, why are you propping these stories here? If you have a good story, either prop it yourself, or ask me to prop it for you. I don't understand why you must prop your stories in this forum. This is akin to spamming. I know you will try to show in some way that this is all related, but if you think Obama is a failure then you are much like the people in the rightwing of the Republican party and I think your stories and comments would have a more welcome reception there.

Obama and the Politics Of Bollocks
There is a lot of bollocks about at the moment.... Far from "deconstructing [sic] the war on terror", Obama is clearly pursuing it with the same vigour, ideological backing and deception as the previous administration. George W. Bush's first war, in Afghanistan, and last war, in Pakistan, are now Obama's wars – with thousands more US troops to be deployed, more bombing and more slaughter of civilians. On 22 January, the day he described Afghanistan and Pakistan as "the central front in our enduring struggle against terrorism and extremism", 22 Afghan civilians died beneath Obama's bombs in a hamlet populated mainly by shepherds and which, by all accounts, had not laid eyes on the Taliban. Women and children were among the dead, which is normal.
Far from "shutting down the CIA's secret prison network", Obama's executive orders actually give the CIA authority to carry out renditions, abductions and transfers of prisoners in secret without the threat of legal obstruction. As the Los Angeles Times disclosed, "current and former intelligence officials said the rendition program might be poised to play an expanded role."...
...Obama has chosen not to stop any of this. Neither do his ballyhooed executive orders put an end to Bush's assault on constitutional and international law. He has retained Bush's "right" to imprison anyone, without trial or charges. No "ghost prisoners" are being released or are due to be tried before a civilian court. His nominee for attorney-general, Eric Holder, has endorsed an extension of Bush's totalitarian USA Patriot Act. The man of "change", is changing little. That ought to be front page news from Washington....
...What the childish fawning over Obama obscures is the dark power assembled under cover of America's first "post-racial president". Apart from the US, the world's most dangerous state is demonstrably Israel, having recently killed and maimed some 4,000 people in Gaza with impunity. On 10 February, a bellicose Israeli electorate is likely to put Binyamin Netanyahu into power. Netanyahu is a fanatic's fanatic who has made clear his intention of attacking Iran. In the Wall Street Journal on 24 January, he described Iran as the "terrorist mother base" and justified the murder of civilians in Gaza because "Israel cannot accept an Iranian terror base (Gaza) next to its major cities". On 31 January, unaware he was being filmed, Israel's ambassador in Australia described the massacres in Gaza as a "pre-introduction" - dress rehearsal - for an attack on Iran.-

And who would you have in the Whitehouse instead? McCain/Palin or maybe Hillary Clinton? Who would pass muster with you to do everything right in foreign policy, the economy, etc. in 3 weeks. What could anyone do with the mess this President was handed? So I guess you're saying he should denounce Israel, pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Close Gitmo. Fix the economy and undo hundreds of executive orders in three weeks. I think he's moving in that direction, but his most important problem to deal with is the economy. Just be happy McCain?Palin didn't get in there or we'd already be saying, "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb,Iran".

For Netanyahu, the reassuring news is that Obama's administration is the most Zionist in living memory – a truth that has struggled to be told from beneath the soggy layers of Obama-love. Not a single member of Obama's team demurred from Obama's support for Israel's barbaric actions in Gaza. Obama himself likened the safety of his two young daughters with that of Israeli children while making not a single reference to the thousands of Palestinian children killed with American weapons - a violation of both international and US law. He did, however, demand that the people of Gaza be denied "smuggled" small arms with which to defend themselves against the world's fourth largest military power. And he paid tribute to the Arab dictatorships, such as Egypt, which are bribed by the US Treasury to help the US and Israel enforce policies described by the United Nations Rapporteur, Richard Falk, a Jew, as "genocidal".
Reply
It is time the Obama lovers grew up. It is time those paid to keep the record straight gave us the opportunity to debate informatively. In the 21st century, people power remains a huge and exciting and largely untapped force for change, but it is nothing without truth. "In the time of universal deceit," wrote George Orwell, "telling the truth is a revolutionary act."

I HOPE that SC is right.
If not the future is dire indeed.
There is something beyond wilful about the Republican response to Obama - at least how its manifested itself on these threads.
I remember so well that abysmally boring run up to the GOP nomination how they managed to "glorify" every single sequential "front-runner" till he hit the dust and when McCain was the only one left standing - barely - he became the idol of those who had put him last on their list!
Jeez!!!
Next time they can jazz it up and get it over and done with in a matter of hours - or perhaps minutes - with a live-orgy between Palin and Joe the Plumber and ANYONE taking the third role - how about Larry Flynt, he's still alive, I heard him croaking on the radio last night. Whoever comes first is the candidate, most is the VP pick..

Another comedian. Who uses the words like hate speech, criminal, Nazi, etc to describe the opposition. Not the conservatives. The party of inclusion and compassion. They left that behind in a cloud of dust. A very liberal Senator has a difference of opinion on the war and gets kicked out of the party. Such inclusion. Calling the opposition those names and when Air America fails to live up to the hype because the radio listeners did not want to listen to them raise the concept of removing those hated conservatives from talk radio.

Tax cuts, city slu ts. All leading economists have all said tax cuts will only amount to a hill of beans in an emergency of this magnitude. Sometimes the people don't really know what's best for them. This eco0nomic situation is complex and most people don't really understand the enormity of it. Then they have a bunch of bloggers and rightwing nutjobs telling the people that the situation isn't that dire, and all they need is a few taxcuts and everything will correct itself. That in itself is criminal, because it sets us up for more pain and sacrifice as time goes by. People just go party line on this and the whole country is going to suffer a great deal.-

Really? We don't know what's good for us, so we have to depend on people like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, John McCain, and the rest of those people to take care of us??
I'm sorry, but I consider myself to be an adult. I don't need a mommy or nanny government taking care of me. I don't need or want 98% of the "government services" that I must pay for -- most of which are poorly executed and inefficiently distributed.
As far as :'not understanding the stimulus bill", most of us are smart enough to understand that spending that will not take place for 1, 2 or even 3 years does NOT fall under the category of "immediate" or "emergency".. As one talking head put it, it's like mailing a letter to the fire department when your house is on fire.

What astounds me? Within the first 17 days of this new administration Republicans have commented as follows:
Reply
Sen.Kyle - Obama's inaugural speech was "low brow" - ?
Andrew Card - Obama was not showing proper respect for the
office by wearing a long-sleeved shirt and tie in
the Oval Office. Like no other President - oops!
Except when Bush did - eh?
RNC Chairman Steele - Asked what he thought the relationship
would be with the administration?
"We won't be intimidated by Pres. Obama"
Sen. Lindsey Grahame - the very next day, " I won't be
INTIMIDATED by the President!"
Limbaugh - "I hope he fails"
Is there even the most committed right-winger out there that
does not realize our country is in trouble? Republicans have
not even been ashamed to put Party advantage ahead of the
work of the country. As John Boehner said regarding the
stimulus package: "This is a time for us, as Republicans,
to establish our identity" - Well, what the heck is the rest
of the country supposed to be doing while Republicans are
contemplating their navels?
Get with the program and start working as a government -
NOT a party - for the good of the nation.....the election is
OVER, and the people have spoken!! -
