It is entirely likely that these bills will be vetoed by their respective governors, despite the best efforts of the legislatures. It is also entirely likely that the legislatures lack the sufficient number of votes to override those vetoes. What I fail to understand is why the governors of each of those states fail to see the value of same sex marriage. Gays and lesbians have families too, and they deserve to have their relationships given the credence they so rightly deserve. These couples are not seeking religious backing; rather, they want recognition and acceptance from the state.

Gays and lesbians should have NO RIGHTS beyond those rights as individual citizens.

Gays and lesbians are individual citizens who should have the right to marry just like any other individual citizens.
Their lifestyle choices (out of the closet) are an abomination, sinful, disgusting, and downright appalling.
How would you know? Sounds like you been watching them you pervert!
NO OTHER SPECIES of animal or creature (that I know of) has an inclination toward sex with the same gender, because they know better, and they can not procreate their species in doing so.
Actual homosexuality has been observed in the wild amonst animals. To go ever further some animals, like mooses, have been known to mount anything it can possibily mount such as cows and horses.
The highest form of creation, man and woman, CHOOSES to be with the same sex, which is wrong in the eyes of our Creator.
If homosexuality is such a high priority to God, you think he would of put it in the place of thou shalt not kill or steal in the ten commandments. So do you lords work and go protest the war or all these corporations stealing billions from hard working honest people.
God did not create "homo's and "lezzies" to be with their same sex as partners.
So if God did not create "homo's and "lezzies" to be with their same sex as partners, why did god create "homo's and Lezzies"?
Burn, baby!
Only thing I can sujest to you is to seek pychtriatric help at your nearest county or city mental hospital. You got some deep seeded issues. -

The fundamental rights of the minority should not be trumped by the tyranny of the majority. The people should not be allowed to vote on the rights of others. Should we be allowed to put the right to own guns up for a vote? Should we be allowed to put free speech up for a vote? What about the right to peaceful assembly? All of those are fundamental rights as deemed by the Federal and numerous state constitutions. Likewise, the right to marry has been deemed a fundamental right in a number of states, including California. Why should the right to marry the partner of one's choice be taken away from gays and lesbians? The answer is simple; it is a violation of our fundamental rights.
