Dear Iranians: Have the Courage to Say No to Islam »
Posted By questionallah 10 months, 3 weeks ago in ReligionNearly 1400 years ago, a group of nomads from across the scorching Arabian Desert conquered Iran (Persia), the greatest empire known to the history of mankind. With that, they injected their Islamic virus into the veins of their victim: the Iranian people.

Why would you consider it either 'sad' or a 'joke' cloud? It seemed to be a heartfelt and well written call to one's countrymen/women. Just as we've seen by those here in the US that don't like what this country has done, religion as a whole or Christianity in particular.
Reply
This thread will turn hate filled though and the context of the 'message' will be lost in the tit for tat that will ensue 'as usual'. It's too bad that condemnation of the Christian and or Jewish faiths and the atrocities done by them or perceived to have been done by them can be openly (if not heatedly) discussed, but Islam for some reason is taboo and is considered something to do with much fear of reprisal.

Dear Americans: Have the courage to say no to christianity.
Reply
Christianity was never made for europeans as a system of religion. Christ said that he was only preaching to the jews, a hateful people who to this day still need to learn the values of love and forgiveness.
Only Paul, who never met jesus, decided there were shekels to be had by telling it to the gentiles. Look at what it has done to your nation, despite the hopes of the founding fathers that reason, not religion, would lead and guide the nation, in the place of fairy tales that justified genocide, slavery, and theft.-

Your ignorance and hate is showing through.

"Christianity was never made for europeans as a system of religion. Christ said that he was only preaching to the jews, a hateful people who to this day still need to learn the values of love and forgiveness."
Here is a quote from the Gospel of Matthew. Christians call this the great commission for them to be missionaries and preach the gospel to all of the world.
---------------------------------------------
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
---------------------------------------------
So much for the first part of your statement. The second part of your statement is transparently anti Jewish. No race etc. has all good or bad people in it. Saying those things about Jews is a very nasty racial hate speech.
"Only Paul, who never met jesus, decided there were shekels to be had by telling it to the gentiles. Look at what it has done to your nation, despite the hopes of the founding fathers that reason, not religion, would lead and guide the nation, in the place of fairy tales that justified genocide, slavery, and theft."
Again your ignorance is overflowing. Paul met Jesus when he was traveling to have more of those hated Christians killed. Then you say that he made money off of being a missionary. He worked as a tent maker to earn his living and was ultimately crucified in Rome. Great profit in that work right.
Your hatred of Christianity blinds you to reality. Compare what happens in the US to what happens in atheist countries. Like the Soviet Union when it was still going or in China today. Get your head out of the sand.

Sorry, gotta neg you for the Jew-bashing. My mother is not a hateful person, quite the contrary. My grandmother was a gentle and kindly woman, too. Both Ashkenazim. Me too, partially. Dad and grandad were gentile.

Stereotyping the character of an entire ethnic group is racist - will you tell us next that blacks steal and Mexicans are lazy? -

Though it's true that the same could be said about Christianity, this thread is about Iran and Islam, let's try and keep on topic.
Reply
If this thread makes it to the front page it will turn into a firestorm of tit for tat as they all do.
Muslims against Christian Doctrine, Christian against Muslim and the Atheists against both. The usual, talk about Christian Crusades will end up the topic, instead of what the article is about 'Iran'.
From what I saw on TV last night, Iran is about to have an election and their current leader will have a more 'moderate' opponent running against him.
Could it be that with that moderate in Iran coupled with the Obama Administration could equate to an actual chance of decent dialogue in the ME? -

Yes. Because that great Christian leader, George Bush, didn't invade a fairly secularized country and force it to become more ideologically conservative, thus oppressing MORE women in the process.

I would say Dawkins would be comfortable asking people to give up religious extremism.
Reply
"My point is not that religion itself is the motivation for wars, murders and terrorist attacks, but that religion is the principal label, and the most dangerous one, by which a "they" as opposed to a "we" can be identified at all."
I think Dawkins argues against the 'automatic credulity' many give to religion, most particularly those with extremist fundamentalist viewpoints. -

Sorry, this is just so much Islamophobic claptrap. And yes, it is appropriate to bring up ways Christianity has been used be those who seek ever-increasing power. As an analogy, it is always the extremists who cause trouble, who get people killed, and who kill in the name of [insert holy figure here].

Asking all Iranians to surrender their faith is akin to stomping on their face AND calling them 'stupid' (with a swift kick to the balls for good measure). It's another example Iranians can point to to say, "See? They hate us for our faith!" You want to make change in the region? Support movements within Islam like the Sufis, who teach peace above all things. -

How odd that an article from "faithfreedominternational" is trying to convince the Iranians that they aren't free to choose Islam if they want.

Dear Iranians: Have the courage to say no to ANY extremist, ideological framework. But choose whichever religion you want. -

Then you know that Persia was NEVER "arabified" and that the persian people kept their own culture and language. The shias of Iran are a world apart from the wahabism of Arabia.
Like the Jews of Middle Eastern origin who kept their religion and culture to themselves even to date and they keep rejecting Zionism when the Zionists trying to hijack their religion as it could be sold to the gentiles as the theory of chosen people coming back to the holy land. There is no such thing as Arbified in Islam, each people could keep their own national identity as Iranians do. Anyway it nice to hear from you after a very long time.-

When the Muslims conquered Iran, they burned down all libraries and forced their way of life on the Iranians by the sword. The same thing is true about any other nation that they conquered. Perhaps it is correct to say that the Muslims tried to Muslimize and Arabize whoever they conquered by forcing Islam and their culture on others.

In the artical they mentioned about moderate Muslims being afraid to speak out against the extremists but isn't this the case in alot of situations. Here in NOrth America we do have the right of freedom of speech but many places in the world do not. The moderate Muslims in Canada and United States are no more of a threat than anyone else, In Iran they do have a voice and they do have elections and if people are unhappy with things they will likely vote in a more moderate government. The idea that the moderate Muslims open the door for the extemists is sort of a statement that was made for no other purpose than to make people hate Muslins whether in Iran or elsewhere. I don't know how many of you have access to Canadian television channels but we have a show up here called "Little Mosque On The Prairie" which is about muslims in a own and does show a side of a people which would likely shock many American people since it shows that the Muslim religion and it followers are not much different than Christians. The author of this artical has an agenda as do many who write things and uses certain scripture to promote the fear factor about the Muslim religion.

Of course you don't need any religion to live if you want to live like an animal while claiming that you a civilized person. Animals do eat, drink, procreate and sleep as you do, do you see any difference between you and the animals? What we see today the civilized world is killing millions of people in the name of freedom and Democracy. We see it in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan and other part of the world. You need Islam the religion as you are a mortal because that will keep you out of hell for misbehaving in this world. And nobody brain wash Muslims they only educate them, it is Secularism and its media brainwash ignorant people like you.-

How can you say that when the atheist countries have less crime than the Christian countries?
How can anyone believe that to not have a religion/god is equivalent to being immoral? Do you think that the moment a person realizes that there is no god, he starts getting feelings of having to rape women/children, killing others, lying through his/her teeth, etc.?

The radical muslims are cause for great concern and moderate muslims will join the jihad on moment's notice. When the war starts consider all muslims a target for they will certainly target all of us. The effects on this world will be devastating to say the least.
