      Thanks Senor Coconut,

Alaska's Cook Inlet beluga whales are a unique group of white whales whose numbers have dramatically declined in the past two decades due to pressures ranging from pollution to increased ship traffic. The Valdez spill took its toll on them too.

Governor Palin had opposed listing the Cook Inlet beluga whales, citing the listing as a threat to oil and gas development, despite their genetic uniqueness and the fact that their numbers have decreased from 1,300 in the 1980s to about 350 today.

She had indicated her intention to file suit to block placing them on the endangered list. Fortunately, she was defeated. However, with the oil lobbyists in her pocket, it is expected that she will mount another campaign against their conservation and protection.

        Well done my friend.

Loved the sea otter, cute little critters.

Yeah, Palin would kill her own off with her lack of wisdom.

But hey the conservatives are anything but conservative any more.

I think they should be called the greedy's. Because that is all they are about.

This is one of many places on my see before I die list. That said...the sounds of whales. Nothing quite like it. Add the sounds of ocean waves and you have one of Natures own unique one of kind symphonies.

Very impressive presentation, Spade, much enjoyed. How sad that such wondrous creatures are endangered.
May the exploitative schemes of Palin & her ilk end in failure.
