I can see it all now. Some Arkansas cracker gets in an argument with his buddy Jim Bob over a dent in his new double wide. He vows to get Jim Bob the next time he sees him. The next time happens to be in Church. He pulls out his gun and shoots Jim Bob. Well twelve other parishioners take exception to this and try to shoot Mr. Cracker. Unfortunately they haven't spent much time at the range and a few shots go astray. Now instead of just Jim Bob being shot we now have twelve people gravely injured or dead. That's one way to thin the herd, way to go Arkansas legislature.

Are you calling some Arkansas white guy a "cracker"? That's a pretty racist statement. I wonder if it would be as well received if I called a Alabama black southern baptist the "n" word. Just wondering.

And if you read the bill it leaves the church with the option of allowing concealed carry. -

Guns in church isn't that a Southern tradition? How else do the ugly girls get husbands? Ugly girl with the "willing" groom and daddy with the double barrel... It worked for Hillary didn't it? So now if they drag you in to marry her, you never know if they're armed or not.

The right wing evangelicals and the NRA have driven the Republican party over to the fringe of reality. In order to return, we need to vote out every damned Republican until they get the message that their abberations and ideology are not what the vast majority of Americans need or want! I don't think it will be long if people like John Boehner and Mitch McConnell and their little groupies keep being obstructionists. Can't wait until 2010! We are comin' after you, you lunatics! -

Well, from a Constitutional perspective I have to go with Arkansas on this one. It's still up to the individual church as to whether or not guns will be allowed, so it's not forcing guns into churches where they are not wanted.

This sounds like largely a symbolic gesture that will have little impact on much of anything. Frankly, it sounds like a deliberate "F*ck you" to a new administration that had an awful lot of "they're gonna take yer guns" rhetoric thrown against it.-

which is just another big lie by the conservatives about Obama. He NEVER threatened to take anybody's gun away! Just another lie to stir up the crazy people. Seems it's really easy to fool anybody that votes Republican. They did it twice and bought Bush's lies for 8 years. Well, we ain't buyin' it anymore!

Well, we will have to wait and see just how many nuts go into churches in Arkansas and start shooting, won't we? Have you twits ever noticed how many of those mass shootings occur in churches and/or schools. In both places it's illegal according to federal law and in most states, even states where concealed carry is legal, to carry concealed in a church or school. The State of Arkansas is recognizing the peoples' right to protect themselves. Please save us all from the ignorance of liberal, progressive democrats.

I wish someone that was injured or killed in a shooting where concealed carry is not allowed (but allowed in that state) would sue the hell out of that establishment, for NOT allowing them to protect themselves and not providing sufficient protection from some nutcase.
